LP Phase

How do you work out how long your LP phase is, is it if the comes on your 14th dpo your LP phase is 14 days or is it 13 days as the came on the 14th?

Sorry if my question isn't very clear due to bad wording , but really hope someone will be able to help me.

Thanks

Basically you have to know your ov date to caluculate it. If you ov cd14 and your af comes on cd 28- you have a lp of 14 days ....count forwards from ovulation counting the day after your ov as day 1.

By the way, i have a 30 days cycle..ov cd17 so have lp of 13 days.

LP can be anywhere between 11-16 days. Any shorter and the endimitrium doesnt have time to build up (your period and food for bubba) and the embryo doent have anything to implant into- other problems with luteal phase defect, LPD (if too short or too long) is poor follicle stimulation and short lived egg.

Hope this helps

Just to add...14-16 is only a basic rule of thumb....as long as your LP is roughly between 10-16 days it's perfectly normal.

I have a 12day LP myself. I ov'd on CD15 and today is CD26, thus I am expecting to get my AF on Saturday.
