Is this normal?

Hi everyone!

I'll try and keep it short. My little girl(my first) is two years now and my husband and I have decided we are ready for another. I am a bit confused as to how drastically my body has changed compared to before my little girl though:

1) I don't get sore breats or nipples during ovulation or menstruation anymore. My breasts used to hurt like mad prior to my first pregnancy whenever I was ovulating or menstruating.

2) My periods are still a bit all over the place even after a whole year after weaning my little one. Before getting pregnant I could actually pin point the exact time of day I would be getting my periods or ovulating. Now it can be as mcuh as two weeks late for no apparent reason.

3) However whenever I do use them, OPK's do detect a surge so I assume that means I am ovulating. Gynae seems to think all is well and that I worry too much; so does my husband.

4) During ovulation, I get the most severe bouts of cramping and constipation and it hurts like hell when I try to go to the toilet. This lasts for three days and then vanishes.

I would love to hear from anyone who is or has experienced these same changes, just so I know it is 'normal'.

Hope to hear from someone soon!

I'm Currently Feeling:

Hello there, welcome to the bnb! I'm afraid I can't help you very much but I didn't want to read and run. I'm sure as the day goes on you'll get replies from some of the girls, there are quite a few here who are trying for a second / third child. Did you go through the madness of ttc for your little girl or was it quite straightforward (sorry if that's too nosey or forward!) Welcome again and some for your journey xxx

my little boy is 2 and we've decided where ready for another. I went back on the pill straight away! didn't breast feed my little boy and now i'm back off the pill for the 2nd time. My cycle is just the same.. same aches and pains as when i was off the pill trying for my little boy.. so i'm thinking maybe it's because you breast fed and never went onto pill hormone... sorry i couldn't give any advise!

I ddin't have any problems ttc with my little girl. It was pretty straight forward. No OPK's. Nothing. I had her at 34 weeks though via Cesarean section. Could this be the reason for all the cramps, etc?

My scar has healed completely. Its not even noticeable. Some pain here and there for a while but it has since totally disappeared.

same here... strange then! i honestly don't know. I'm in the same boat as you.. had a c section, got a 2 yrs old, trying again... but i feel totally the same as before i had my little boy. Must have something to do with the pill. Maybe going back on it gave me the false hormone to get my cycle back into routine... only been off it since july. Had one cycle which was 34 days. I'm on 2nd cycle now. are you able to tell when you ovulate from CM?

No unfortunately. I don't have that much CM. Some months yes, but others there is not much there. That's why I rely on the OPK's.
