| what is the "right" time??? Hello Everyone!
I am ttc using a donor....so the timing is very critical...
I am using a CBFM, which I love!....last couple of month it showed the eggy symbol/peak fertility on CD16....
what do you think is the best time for me to inseminate?
first month I inseminated in the evening of the day the eggy symbol showed up....but I had noticed my EWCM had almost gone by then, but had been there the 2 days before....
so the second month I thought I try earlier....inseminated the evening of the day before the eggy symbol showed up...what do you all think?
thanks! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | A study i read (from gynaecological society in USA) showed that couples who bd 2 days before ov and on day of ovulation had the same pg rates, roughly about 34% (based on on bd pr cycle!) Co-incidentally its how i got pg last two days before ov cd 15, the day before i got a peak, so i think you're doing fine..its just a personal choice..i like to think its better to have the spermies waiting for the egg, lol!!
Good luck, chicken!! |

| thanks shoeshopper....good luck to you too!
thanks rumpskin....and congrats on you BFP...have a health & happy pregnancy!
thanks Omi...yeah I know what you mean...I feel more like that about the spermies too...they should be already there...I think its because I read somewhere that they need to undergo some chemical changes first...that is after all the traveling...and then they are kept in the wall of the tube and some are released every so often....and also the egg may only live as little as 4 hour in the worst case scenario...you coul just miss it if you test at the wrong time....
why does it sound so complicated and 100s of women get pregnant without even trying or on their first cycle? ahhhhhh...I am stressing again ....its only cycle day 5! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | i also wanted to add that im a great believer in conservative estimates...but not anything thats an anomaly..i.e. very short window or a very long window. I too have read this 'x' hours for eggs and even 2 hours for sperm...but i think thats in the extreme, so id rather exclude that empiric evidence myself.
And god, tell me about it....there's nothinh easy about ttc..grrr! I think all those 'oops, just gt pg' are just that...oops's. Everything seems to take ages if you are watching the clock...or in our case the days...months...ugh!
It'll happen though..and when it does we shall be the most patient of mothers due to all the flipping waiting, lol!!!
Good luck, babe!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hello!
I considered this option too years ago but then I met my OH but I met a lady through it who conceived(she is 40ish) I think it took her a few cycles then she got preg!!
I used a CBFM for the first time last cycle and got 2 peaks. 1st was the day before I ovulated the 2nd the day I ovulated.
Are your cycles regular and is your donor close by ie you can call him up on the day??
I know the cycle I got preg OH and I BD the 2 days before ov and tried day of ovulation but he could finish(~sorry if tmi!) so I guess for me its better for sperm to waiting on the egg already!
Good Luck!

Good luck, babe!! | that's a good way to luck at it! you made me laugh then!
thanks Omi!
and thanks elmaxie.....my cycles are fairly regular and our donor has been very available so far....but I kind of guessed when it would go to peak....as it had been cd16 past few month...so he had some advance notice...
I have been planning this for so long and charted my cycle for a couple of month and have used the CBFM for several month...after I got no result with internet cheapies....long before we actually found the right donor...
so this will be my 3rd cycle actively ttc....I was just wondering what worked best for most people....but probably there is no such thing....
and I thought finding the right donor was the hardest part! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | If your using a donor the best time is the day before youov, so the sperm are waiting for the egg. If you are lucky enough to get 2 insems, then the day before and day of ov are best i think.
Thats the way im doing it anyway. With my son, i had the insemination on the day of pos opk, so day before ov.. and i got pregnant first time. So it does work heh
Good Luck hun xx |
