unsure when af is due

hiya, I read somewhere that you usually Ovulate 14 days before af arrives, does this depend on your cycle length or is it 14 dpo regerdless?

I'm not really sure when Af is due to arrive as I'm on my first cycle since mc on 30th july. Af then arrived on 15th aug so I took that as cd1 and started my bbt chart and opk, according to these my ov took place on cd12 (27th aug) Because I was on the pill before my mc I have no idea how long my cycles are. I'm just guessing af is due around cd26. Can anyone shed any light?

i asked this today whether the LP (time between ovulation and Af) was always 2 weeks depending on your cycle and got told its always 2 weeks regardless.

I am 19 days since ovulation now (had mine on the 15th as well) and still getting bfn's and getting quite annoyed my periods are different but the last 2 months have been 35day and if i do have a 35day cycle this month i would of ovulated 3 weeks before my period so now even more confused lol

ahem ... your lp is NOT always 14 days..its as inidvidual as your cycle length and ov day. the average lp is 14 days but is of course based on the ubiqitous 28 day 'average' cycle sooo.. depending on when you ovulate and when you get af you can calculate your lp. Most people have it within the average but some people have a lp of 10 and some of 15..the normal range is thought to be between 10 and 16.

The general rule is that as opposed to ovulation your lp doesnt move that much, the odd day maybe..1 day...but anything more than that and its more likely you ovulated at a different time then that your lp changed drastically. I.e. you period may be late but thats not cause your lp changed but because you ovulated later..

Basically you have to keep and eye on your cycle to get an idea what your lp is. I eg. have an average lp of 13 days..ive had it 14 and ive had it 12..but the average over a year is 13. if you know for sure when you ovulated you can either count the days til cd 1 or use an online lp calculator..good luck!!

Hope this helps!

Hugs, Omi xxx
