Question

Very confused!

Hi all,

Sorry for the length but i am trying to provide as much detail as possible

I am new to the site but I am at that stage where I need to seek advise from the people that I read about throughout my monthly cycles (I am a closet reader lol)

I have been trying for a while now for a bundle of joy but seem to be either 1) having problems with them sticking or 2) am just plain weird

You see every so often I feel pregnany and get the symptoms do the tests and they show up as slightly positive and then get slightly more positive as i go. Then all of a sudden (and I mean all of a sudden) they are completely negative!! Now the positives can show up on different brands etc and I have many of them so they all cant be false positives??

I have had this happen now at least four devastating times (I am only human and once i see a lovely I get excited for the 3 to 4 days that they appear for then face thousands of ) but every time it does and I go to the doctors they tell me that the blood test is simply negative (for some reason they never tell me what my levels are although I repeatedly ask them to, they just inform me that it is negative and thats all pregancy tests are suppose to tell us!).

I have a slight problem with my periods as they tend to come when they want so i am never sure when i am about to ovulate. I use OPK's but they never show up darker than the line so I guess I may not even be ovulating (although when they appear to be as dark ((only on the very edge of the tests however)) I appear to have egg white mucus so just assume I am ovulating). Can't possibly be getting otherwise right??

My question is does anyone ever seem to get slightly or just plain positive pregnancy tests when they are near to ovulating? I know this seems a strange question to ask and I understand that they don't test for ovulation and are only looking for the HGC hormone its just I am running out of logicial answers as to what appears to happen during some of my cycles.

Any thoughts will be truly appreciated!!

sounds like you have been on a real roller-coaster
So sorry you have had that have turned to it sounds to me like they are chemical pregnancies ... where for whatever reason the bean doesn't stick

As for pin pointing O etc do you chart at all? On something like Fertility Friend or the such like? that can be really good for helping you to work out your cycles etc (helped me tremendously)
Also I never got a OPK to work! They just never did! Not sure if it was user error on my part or what but I invested in a Clear Blue Fertility Monitor (we had reached or 9th month and 8th full cycle so DF treated me to one) I wish I'd got one sooner as they are really fab.

Have you been to the Dr and asked for some tests? since you have had a few bfp's that have not stuck they might do a general work up for you?
So sorry for your losses hopefully you will get you sticky bean soon

Hmm does sound a little strange hun... sorry, firstly Welcome

Ok could this be chemical pregnancy?? Where your testing so early it picks it up a but turns chemical...

I think I would be asking the Dr for day 21 tests, and that will indicate if you are ovulating or not!

Have you spoken to your Dr about any of this? Or maybe your local family planning clinic???

Hi guys,

Thanks for getting back to me. I am thinking along the lines of chemical pregnancys as well. Just wanted to know what others thought too. I do use FF but haven't used BBT yet, will do though on next cycle.

I have tried for many years i'm afraid and even under went IVF twice but they both failed. Doctors told me two years ago its unexplained and we decided to just stop for a while. So I went back to college and busied myself for a while. But the yearning still raises its ugly head and I keep trying every month although i don't put in as much effort as i should (hope that makes sense, its just if i do then I feel i am letting myself slip back into the life before where i was completely overcome with TTC).

I do think i need to be truthful with myself and face facts that i am ready to try properly again and go back to my gyne. At least i can say i may have conceived four times which he will say reply with ....well thats great news at least something is happening down there!! He is lovely.

Thanks again for your time.

Ive never actively TTC hun so I dont know the overwhelming feeling that you ladies have each month, but I know once you have set your heart on it, it can consume your every waking moment!

I would be heading back off to your Dr and getting them to firstly check if you are ovulating hun! Once you know you are then you can start TTC again! I just hope you have more success this time hun and in a very short space of time!
