Help - Progesterone low

Hi
I am very confused!

I had a blood test at CD13 to see what my progesterone levels are. Ive just called for my results and there low! I am really confused as both my persona and ovulation test said that I ovulated on CD17.

Do you think CD13 for the blood test was too early, or should it still be high! Not very clued up on this and i cant see dr till Monday and really worried!!!

Any advice would be much appreciated

Kerry x

FAR FAR to early honey!

You ned to have it done 7 days after OV, so its a hit or miss if you dont know when you Ov, they say day 21 if you have text book cycles, i have minee done on day 20 or 18 depending on if i have had a 27 or 25 cycle, or if i know the exact day i ov'd...

They are looking for the peak of progesterone on the 7th day after OV honey progesterone rises after OV, then if conception has not took place it will drop and AF starts, you only produce progesterone after OV, so get it re done honey xxx

Ditto the above! I'm curious to know why you had it done on cd13 though? Did your doc tell you which day to get it done? xxx

If your progesterone level is fine on CD21 can you still have problems if you have a short LP? I agree that CD13 is way to early.

I've always had my progesterone tested on cd20 or 21. It seems to me that cd13 is way to early. I'd be curious on why the doc chose to do it then.

Yes they were checking for PCOS, and the dr said CD13 was the day! I didn't argue, as you would of thought a dr would know best!!!

I really don't know, but what confuses me more, is I have managed to speak to the dr who has now said I have to do it on CD17 next month (the day I ovulate). Surely this is too early too? x

It does seem odd! But may be he wants to check your levels on a week by week basis or something, to see how the progesterone is rising? If you are worried could you ask to see another doctor? xxx

Hi honey i would be asking for another GP's opinion hun, i get checked for PCOS every so often as i have cysts on my ovarys and the test for that is done as a "base line hormone blood test"

This takes place anytime between cd 3-5...

This website should help more honey

All the best hun xxxxx
