So they finally called me a few weeks ago and booked an appt with me to the genetics counceling clinic for August 19th @330pm. Honestly I had no idea why they wanted me to go to this appt or what it was about. We went yesterday and I had the little girl I 'sit and of course she was being a bit fussy being in the stroller for such a long time as well as the car seat. We got to the hospital and people were directing us all around the hospital (so we were a bit late) but we finally found where we were supposed to be.

Turns out the appt was supposed to be for our CVS results. They talked to me for a few mins about our miscarriage history, health, family history of spina bifida then they told me they were still trying to track down the CVS reports as they are going to be what tells me exactly what happened to our baby (we found out on June 9th, 2008 @ 14wks gestation that our babys heart had stopped). </3

They were unable to track down the results so the appt pretty much was a waste of time. The doctor talked to me for a few minutes and told me they suspect it was Turners syndrome because of how much fluid was around the baby's neck even more than children with Downs have. He said that if it was Turners syndrome that the baby was female and that it is chromosomal so there would have been nothing they could do (which I already knew and understood). They said if it is another chromosomal disorder than of course the same...these things tend to just happen spontaneously. He said if the reports come back and it wasnt chromosomal then they will look into something herediary in which case Shawn and I will have to go for testing. The doctor also told me that if it is chromosomal that there is a 1/100 chance that my next baby will have that SAME chromsome disorder. So the odds are pretty good...my next baby could be as healthy as can be.

He asked me questions they normally ask like if I smoke (neither shawn nor I do), drink excessively (nope), taking prenatals (yes & folic acid)...he asked how my LMP was and I told him it seemed as normal as any other AF I get which he seemed satisfied with. He asked if we were TTC and of course I told him basically we are letting what happens happen (which is a bit of a white lie but I didn't really think it was something he needed to know) He knows we arent using protection so its obvious we are somewhat trying.

They told me they will hopefully have the results by Friday but I am unsure if they are going to call or what...they said they will also be sending me a letter but I guess we will see.

I'm very sorry about you losing your baby I hope you get really lucky and fall pregnant soon! some baby dust for you! xxx
