I'm Currently Feeling: | Laptops........... Hi Girls.........
Anyone got any info on the use of laptops whilst ttc/preg? Have just read in Zita West's book that she advises against using them due to the electromagnetic waves they radiate (or something like that!). And if you do, you mustn't put them on your lap.
I spend hours on my laptop...working, facebooking, surfing, and BnBing.................................................has this been a fatal mistake? Is it so dangerous it could cause MC? Or does it just make it difficult to conceive?????????????
Thanks in advance for any replies! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I use my laptop for hours on a cusion on my lap. I though it was only harmful for men because of the heat on his swimmers? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I agree with Tansey, I thought it was the men that had to stay clear of the old laptop on their laps.
My OH wont let us have it on our laps as it will overheat! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was reading last night than men shouldn't use them as it can slow down the growth in sperm,(if used on lap) same reason as they shouldn't have hot baths, so it said. It was in my book too. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yeah, I've heard that. DH is always yelling at me to put a pillow under the laptop so I don't cook my reproductive organs. I would think that would affect a man more though...hmm....will have to google that now. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hey honey
I use mine on the table/on a cushion on my lap and tend to insist DF put him on something rather than resting it on his crown jewels. I think its more to do with heat than anything else.
Neither of us has them right against our groin/tummy regions and I should think that as long as your careful you'll be fine
I did also notice Zita mentions phones in blokes pockets .... DF laughed when I told him he shouldn't keep his in his pocket .. his reasoning was there are plenty of lap-top using, phone carrying dads out there! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | As has been said before, laptops are harmful to our OHs little simmers - The heat kills them and gives them reduced mobility
Dom was unofficially trying for 3 years with his ex (i.e. no protection on an 'if it happens it happens' basis) and they were never successful.
He was not too good with responsibility regarding protection before he met me, and after 6 months of being together (with me nagging him not to keep his laptop on his lap!) we managed to conceive even though I was on the pill! ... I think that says something! lol
edit: The good news is there's no permanent damage, because unlike women (who have all of their eggs when they are born) men are continually making new sperm, so if they give the laptop a break for a few months, they should be back to their total, normal fertility in no time |
