yeah, they'll want you to have been trying for at least 10 id say before they'd refer you or mine did anyway. Its the pill that does it, when i came off it my luteal phase was 5 days so its getting longer verrrrry slowly, my Consultant said its the pill which surpresses your hormones which take time to get back right, how long were you on the pill? i was on it 11 years and my consultant said i went on it before my reproductive system was matured enough so i effectively surpressed it when it was just developing so it'll take longer to sort itself, everyones different though thats why some women get pg straight away

that's interesting - thanks loopylew! I never realised starting the pill early could affect hormones later on. May be docs should be cautious about giving it to teens? Can i be nosey and ask how old you were when you went on? I was on it for 11 years too, from 19-30. xxxx

Sorry just got in. Went on the pill at 17 and was on it for 7 years.

snowbrdbella8 you have a healthy LP you have nothing to worry about, plus you have had a baby so the chances are you were fertile then so hopefully you will be now.

This is so stressful. Loopylew, let me know how you get on, i'll try anything.

I've never temped or anything like that because I think you can get too bogged down and you end up going crazy hun. I have used the opk and they worked for me and that was it.

I was also on the pill for 7yrs then conceived after 6 months of trying when I was 20. My gp reffered me to the gynae specialist after 12 months of trying a different time but every Dr is different. Some will refer you after 6 months if you are young and there is no physical reason for it! Speak to your gp at 6 month and see what they say hun xxx

Hey DaisyDuke! As I said on the other post, remember that CD1 doesn't start till you get proper red bleeding. Just cos you've started spotting now doesn't mean you can count that as CD1 so your LP may not be as short as you fear. Mine is about 10-11 days and am still a little concerned enough to be in vitb6 to increase it so wait till AF fully arrives (IF she does) and then count back to when you O'd to see how long your LP is.

I do believe that having a shorter LP can make it a little more difficult to conceive. However, there are loads of gals on here who have a shorter LP (as in 10-12 days rather than 14 days) and conceived fine. Equally, there are gals who have been trying for a year or so and have a 14-day LP. So don't panic too much hon. x
