I'm Currently Feeling: | OMG Dammit!! Ok, I went to put on a favourite pair of jeans this morning, and I had to do the combo sky dive -lying flat on your back on the bed- turn yourself inside out-move to get into them!
So, I sucked in while stepping onto the scales (like we all do, thinking it will somehow help?!) and realised I've gained 6 kilos since finding out I was pregnant!. It's a vast amount in such a short time. Since the m/c I've not been taking care of myself, I couldn't be arsed to go to the gym anymore and I'm falling into my favourite comfort foods - which are probably the worst food group...ever! I have my sisters wedding in February and I need to get back into shape....But I can't go like a bull at a gate because I'm TTC. When I put my mind to it I sort of get obsessive, but I want to remain safe for any upcoming swimmers.
Has anyone got any safe tips for TTC'ers trying to drop weight?
Any certain "aides" not safe, like weight loss pills and the sort?
Any vitamins that you may need to take?
Things like that.
Thanks girls |

I'm Currently Feeling: | But we're in the middle of winter...Have to scrape the ice from the windshield every morning brrrr!!!!
Might take up swimming again in summer....
Is it true you're not suppose to take Saunas while TTC? - our gym has a new one and I'm quite tempted..
I know males aren't supposed to, but what about us girls? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I really need to loose a fair amount of weight and have no idea what i should or shouldn't be doing. I'm kinda just trying to do it the best way possible but had no idea i might be doing more harm than good. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I think the sauna thing is for when you are in the 2ww (in case you are pregnant). I'm sure I read that in a list of things NOT to do while pregnant. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | You should avoid extremes in temp when you are preg so would probably apply this to the 2ww as well just in case!
Before I moved to Cumbria I had a personal trainer who knew I was ttc and I did an hour a week with him basically doing core strengthening and balance work. He said to me that I could continue with the work I was doing whilst preg all the time I felt OK and comfortable with it but would need to keep my heart rate below 140bpm (i think it was) and avoid high impact work (such as running).
Basically he said it all depends on how much exericse yr used to doing - if yr say Paula Radcliffe and doing a hell of a lot of exercise before falling preg then you can carry on exercising at quite a high level throughout the pregnancy but if you don't do much exericse at the moment then the best plan is to take it slowly, you don't need to do much - take the stairs at work instead of the lift, walk instead of driving - all things like that help and swimming is great - its low impact and works a lot of muscle groups!!
Basically don't go mad, listen to your body and use common sense! |
