Yes, it's actually extremely normal to ov on cd15, but only if your cycle is around 28 days. Are your cycles always 45 days? Basically, ov usually occurs 12-16 days before your period. If Ov comes early for some reason, your period will also come early. The time before ov can be any length. Do you have any other symptoms of ov, eg egg white cervical fluid, high basal body temps, positive opks? Could you put the ov pain down to something else eg wind, stitch, tummyache? xxxx

Thanks for you replys, the pain i felt was just under the hip bone exactly where you expect OV pains only lasting for about 4 hours, its the same pain i would normally get once a month, when i thought i'd ovulated i made sure me and my husband had sex that night but i still find it hard to believe i ovulated at day 15 when i have a 45 day cycle, the thing aswell is that as i have only just started trying for a baby, i never monitored my cycles until just recently so do not know if i have always ovulated around this time.

Yes, that's another possibility! Read this:
http://www.newscientist.com/article/...e-a-month.html

Or, it could be that this cycle is going to be a shorter one - but who can say till the witch appears (or preferably a !)

I don't think it's possible to have a usual luteal phase of 30 days, because 18+ days is a sign of pregnancy. If your cycles are always 45 days I would guess that you normally ov around cd30. Perhaps you usually ov more than once! (Big chance of twins then!) I'd recommend charting your temps so you can figure out what's going on!
