Hi honey!

I have read evening primrose oil helps with th eproduction or ewcm(I could be wrong but butam sure someone will say if I am) I think you are only menat to take it up until ovulation as it can bring on cramping....again I might be getting muddled with something else but I think its right.

Pre-seed is a vaginal lubricant that you use when ttc....other lubricants arent sprem friendly where as preseed is as it mimics the friendly ewcm we ladies produce. I have ewcm and get "wet"(sorry if tmi) bu twe use it around ovulation to help the sperm on there way. You can buy it online and it costs around £10 for a pack of 6/7 applications.

Hope I was some help.

Hi there! Pre-seed is a sperm friendly lubricant. If you don't have much ewcm or are a bit "dry" from too much it is very useful. It's quite expensive compared to other lubricants though, so I save if for days when I think I'm fertile. You can buy it off Ebay - I use a company called babymad who have an ebay shop - just search for the name. It's a bit different to other lubes as it comes in individual applications and you have to squirt it up your bits before bd.

I dont know much about epo, but I know it can delay ov and can do strange things to your cycles, so I'm not gonna try it!

Honey, just take/use what you feel you need as this TTC is a costly business. As long as your taking folic acid you don't need anythig else.
I've tried pre-seed and it is very nice, didn't get pg though and it's expensive. Tried VitB6 for months and it did nothing. I'm currently taking pregnacare with fish oil capsules.

bet you think this is a l-o-n-g reply :)

Hi Honey,

It looks like you have loads of great advice here already.

Regarding EPO, I found this which will explain it's benefits fully to you:

Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) lowers cholesterol, helps to alleviate pms and most importantly here, aids in the production of fertile quality cervical fluid. Eveinng Primrose Oil is an essential fatty acid that contains gamma linolenic acid (GLA). It is converted to a hormone-like substance called prostaglandin E1 which has anti-inflammatory properties and may also act as a blood thinner and blood vessel dilator. The anti-inflammatory properties help people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. We want to discuss the effects Evening Primrose Oil has on pms and cervical fluid.

If you suffer from pms - this is a sign that you are deficient in the fatty acid contained in Evening Primrose Oil. Evening Primrose Oil can help the body to alleviate the pms symptoms.

Evening Primrose Oil helps the body to produce more fertile quality cervical fluid also known as "egg white cervical mucus." This is because fertile cervical fluid is thin, watery, clear and "stretchy" and easily aids the sperm to swim through the uterus and into the fallopian tube, and to the egg. If there is a lack in this type of cervical fluid, it can impede and/or prevent fertilization. Some women are very dry, and have problems in producing an adequate amount of fertile quality cervical fluid. Drinking a lot of water and taking the Evening Primrose Oil can certainly help in the production of fertile cervical fluid. Also, this type of fluid helps the sperm to stay alive for up to five days inside the fallopian tube, thus enabling conception to happen even if you don't have intercourse again by the time ovulation occurs.

Evening Primrose Oil should only be taken from menstruation to ovulation. This is because Evening Primrose can cause uterine contractions in pregnancy. The dosage taken should be 1500mg to 3000mg per day.

There are many remedies out there to help with fertility, but few are as good as Evening Primrose. EPO is excellent for women because of the help it gives in alleviating pms symptoms, and even menopausal women can benefit from taking it. Evening Primrose Oil increases the fertile type cervical fluid. This may take a month or two to build up, and produce the results you are looking for. It is imperative that you chart your fertility symptoms and signs, so you can know when you have ovulated. By knowing this information, you can discontinue the Evening Primrose Oil after ovulation and start taking flax seed oil. Unless you are very regular, charting your fertility signs is the best tool to determine where you are in your cycle.

Two capsules contain 1000 mg Oil of Primrose yielding 700 mg Linoleic Acid and 100 mg Gamma Linolenic Acid

Other ingredients: gelatin, water.

As a dietary supplement, take 2 capsules one half hour before each meal daily.

And these are really useful websites that list lots of herbal supplements that can be taken too:

http://www.fertilinet.com/naturalsolutions.htm

I don't take extra B6 or anything as I use a specific multivitamin produced by Boots that is specifically for women TTC or pregnant. Here is link showing you exactly what it is:

http://www.boots.com/shop/product_de...tionid=1030279

I particularly chose this one because it includes iron, added calcium (important for your bones and teeth) Omega3 and ginger which is good for sickness (so would be great for morning sickness if you continue them whilst pregnant.

I think if you take a good multivitamin, there should be no need to take any extra B vitamins.

I see you have been TTC for over a year and wonder if you have considered having the CD3 and CD21 blood tests done to test your hormone levels. It is free and well worth it as it can put your mind at ease that you are producing the right hormone levels at the right time and it can confirm whether or not you are ovulating. Well worth it and highly recommended. Best of luck.

Well I have been taking my folic acid since well before we started ttc....Oh has been taking his zinc. We are trying to eat a varied sensible diet. I have reducedmycaffiene levels.

I also drank a glass of grapefuit juice everymorning last few cycles and it worked for me to increase my ewcm...but I have also heard others who this hasnt worked for.

OH and I used preseed every when we first started as OH hadnt ever had BD without a condom so was quite sensitive...but now he is used to it so we keep it for around Ovulation time.

But as Tansey said it can become soooo expensive for all these "aids".....so long as your taking your foc acid thats what really counts!!

Good Luck!!
