Those with CBFM...

Ok so this is my first month using one and today I got my first ever peak!

I know it takes a few cycles to get to know yor own cycle patterns etc...but what I would like to know is that if you use one have you become a bit more relaxed about during your cycle??

I temp every morning and its become part of my routine, same with checking cm when I go to loo during day. My CBFM is becoming part of my routine too now. But before when I was just temping and checking cm I worried about if we would BD at the right time.

Have you found your worry of BD at right time is reduced since the monitor tells you in advance(ie in the morning) or is it still a worry?

Emma.xx

I hope I explained that right?

Hey Tansey...

How long have you used a CBFM.....I am thinking that within the next few months when I really start to "trust" my monitor I might stop temp charting. Your on FF arent you....are you VIP?? I am just now but think it runs out in a month or so time. Do you have to be a VIP to have a space for monitor readings?

This is my 4th cycle and i'm just using the basic now i'm not temping. You click on the day you are imputting info for then click on tests and there is a monitor space - low, high, peak! Also if you are not temping you can change the OV detector to monitor.

Hola-
Congrats on your Peak, it's very exciting isn't it? I just got mine today. I find that I feel very pressured into BDing on the high and peak days and have to make it an effort to do it when I have lows. It really depends on the month though. I try not to tell DH when it is time because then he feels like he has to do something amazing.
With FF, you don't have to have the VIP for monitor readings. I am a regular member and it takes mine.
The only question I still have after 5 months of using the monitor is do we actually O on the first peak day or the second? I BD both just in case but it really hasn't worked so far. It does help when you get a high before a peak so you know it is coming!
Best of luck to you and your monitor.

I love love LOVE my CBFM as it totally worked for me. Besides paying attention to my ov pains, it was my only method of determining my ov day. I didn't temp or check CM.

And to answer your question, yes, I became relaxed about when to BD.

The very first month I used it, I had a chemical pregnancy and we only BD'd on my first peak day (DH pooped out on me the next two days).

The very next month, hubby went out of town so again we only BD'd on my first peak day and I used preseed for the first time. I got my BFP @ 9DPO.

My only complaint is that its sooo expensive. I wish everyone could use it!

I think my CBFM is fantastic, BUT I wouldn't trust it ENTIRELY to stop all other methods of charting until month 3 and here's why....

Clearblue admit that it takes one month to 'learn' your cycle, which is fine, but I have now used it TTC twice, and each time, my first month on CBFM has been 'off'. My cycle was longer, I O'vd later and I know I'm not the only one that has happened to. My second month therefore thoought it knew me, but my cycle was different again.

For those first two months I would treat it as a method of charting, but not a primary method....let it see a couple of cycles and it then knows what you are really about so to speak!

But hopefully you won't get to month 3!

We tend to class the 1st PEAK as your surge and the 2nd OV and start the 2ww the day after But this isn't for defo. This month i have BD ON both PEAK days and the day after!
