Weekend away with friends in TWW - to drink????

Hi,

Well I got a positive on my cb digi last night, no BD last night unfortunatly, DH, not feeling too good, but crossing fingers for tonight and tomorrow!!

We are due to fly to Jersey next friday, to see friends. We enjoy going out for a meal and a few glasses of wine, but I know that this maybe less than 7DPO, and have very mixed feelings about drinking

DH is on board with having a baby, it was very much a joint decision, but I know he thinks I am already neurotic looking on here, and doing OPK's. He is very much of the opinion that is is natural, and has been happening for years, so we don't need to assist nature, by changing what we do, or charting!

My question is, will it be harmful in any way for me to have maybe 3 glasses of wine on both Fri and Sat? (around 6 and 7 DPO)

I dont want TTC to make me completly change my lifestyle, but also, guess it is a small sacrifice now to drink.

The problem then will be, what do we say to the friends we are visiting if I am not drinking?

Thanks for any help!!

my hubby to be and i have given up drinking in prep for ttc. Its been 3 just over 3 weeks now (since we decided to start trying) and although im really missing it, i know its for the best, then again, Hubby's mum drank and smoked all the way through her 4 pregnancies, never having had a mc (lucky woman!) and all of hers were/are fine!

I think knowledge is power, and the odd one or two small glasses wont do you any harm.

If you really dont want to drink, tell your friends you are on antibiotics! - works every time!

Good luck - with everything! Hels x

I don't think it matters that early as the placenta isn't formed so you wouldn't pass it on. Live your life until you know! x

I'm with tansey, until your LO starts to get nutrition from your blood stream a few drinks won't do any harm. Personally, I am a very light drinker anyway - have been for years - so an odd glass or two of wine won't make a difference, but if you are worried do nas helenbun suggested and pretend you're on antibiotics.

Whatever you do, have a good weekend and fingers crossed for your

thanks for the advice ladies!

Decided I wont go mad, but will still enjoy a glass of vino or two. We have been planning this weekend for a while, and although I dont drink heavily ( or even at all during the week!) we dont want TTC to take over our lives completley

As soons as I get that I wont drink any at all, and for me, thats the main thing!

I would definately say live your life, it's things like that that will make you go insane, a couple of glasses each day wont hurt, make the most of it!! It might be your last chance!

Listen to Tansey and everyone else!! The baby doesnt start buliding a placenta until week 5 (counting from first day of last period) and then its when it starts hooking into your blood supply.

By all means be pro-active when ttc..but please dont forget you have a life to live and being pregnant, as my doc told me is not a disease- you'll have to change your life in due time anyway- in the meantime enjoy what you've got left of it, lol!!

Hugs, Omi xxx
