when does a cycle start

i know this sounds silly but it's something i never thought about before! when do you start counting your cycle from? i know its the first day of your AF but is it heavy bleed or the first show of blood? started wed morning with small show.. got heavier! by thursday evening all stopped and was able to BD... then friday morning heavy... Do i count from wed or friday?

cd1 is the first day you bled, so wednesday for you. Dont worry if it dies off and re-starts, that was your first day. So 14-17 days from then, you are ovulating.
