How long do I need to wait????

Hi all

Have noticed a few of you on here have had really long cycles and am looking for some advice!!

I came off the pill and had my period immediately as normal. This was 17th June and I have had nothing since then - by my calculations I am CD40?

Got a bit over excited and have done three pregnancy tests! But all Which is rubbish because everyone I know who has had babies recently got pregnant as soon as they came off the pill!

The thing I am a bit confused about is prior to going on the pill (10 yrs ago) I was really regular and cycles were always around 28/29 days.
What is going on?

Did OPK at recommended time but no ovulation and I'm just not sure when to BD to maximise chance of getting this month and even if there is any chance?

I am so confused - anyone else had this?

I just came off the pill last month too after 13 years and as anxious as you!
Everything is so complicated - it would be wonderful if we could just switch on a switch and say "okay, baby now." Good luck girl.

I know what you mean I waited until June to come off because I was planning a baby for next year but now I wish I had come off earlier.

It would be ok if appeared but absolutely no signs! Of anything!

I guess I just need to be patient but I'm rubbish at that!

Hi kat08,

Know how u feel, my cycles are non-existant after coming off bcp. Have now lost track of what day I'm on (look at my ticker!) I've been off bcp for a year now, and only had 3 AF since last August. Doc has assured me this is 'normal' but I've figured out he is just trying to fob me off.
However i think my situation is quite abnormal, i think you're generally advised to give it 3-6 months to sort itself out. Hopefully you'll be back to normal in no time. Good luck hun

Hi

What OPKs are you using?

I came off BCP after 13 years, last month. I have been using CB digi, and getting negatives from CD9, by yesteday CD15, I was starting to wonder about my cycle length, as still had negatives. However ( as I am a bit of a control freak!) I started testing twice a day, and last night CD15, I got a positive!! also tested this morning ( think I am a bit of an addict already!) and negative. I have read though that this can happen as the OPK reads the LH surge and this can last for just a matter of hours

basically, what I am trying to say, is that on CD15 AM I got a negative, and same on CD 16 AM, but inbetween got a positive, so if you are testing daily, then you may still have ovulated, just not picked it up on the test??

Oh no I was using Clear Blue Digi too - is it usual practice to test twice a day?

I am guessing I probably didn't Ov in that period though as I am on CD 42 now and still no sign of anything!!!

This is doing by head in! I really just want the to turn up now!

Anyone else feel the same?

Kat,

No - the instructions say to test once a day, and even advise that morning is best, however, the ladies on here know their stuff, and I have read a few times that it takes a few hours for the LH surge to be present ( therefore morning is not best) I have also read a few people that have tested twice daily, as the surge can sometimes only be detected for a small amount of hours.

But, as the CD digis are £23 for 7 sticks, this can become costly, and as you are on CD 42, I am not sure what you should do
Hope (in a nice way) for arrives soon, then you can start a fresh cycle and aim for a !
