OMG AF is wiping me out! Any suggestions?

Hi girls, well lucky old me is having my 1st natural AF since last october(due to depo then pill) and omg it is harsh! I am so heavy this month as i always used to be, but i am absolutly shattered and all colour has drained from my body I just cannot function properly at all. Is this normal with coming off contreceptives? Please girls any suggestions/opinions would be so appreciated as AF usually sticks around for 7 days and i am only on day 2. Dont get me wrong i am so pleased to be having a natural cycle but surely she could of been a bit nicer to me

My period totally wiped me out, it was the second one after coming off the pill and i thought i was gonna need a week in bed, luckily it calmed down after about 3 days, think my body was just having a dam good clear out ). Hopefully yours will be the same and it will calm down tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies, it is to the point now where i feel pretty ill. I feel so light headed and sick and thats never happened with AF before. I just hope it does settle as i really have not been able to function today.

Aww hun, after I came off depo and the pill, my AF was hideous.. ya know the saying "its not natural for a woman to bleed for a week and not die" well I took it to the next level, I was soooo heavy with huge clots (tmi) and it was like that for 7 months! Since then ive had quite heavy AF each month and last longer, but everyone is different, hopefully you will settle into a regular more manageble AF! They can wipe you out, make you lightheaded, dizzy and sick, they seem to be natural side effects of a heavy AF hun! But if you continue to feel real bad I would pop along to your Dr!

Mine are always very heavy and last for days. I have found that taking Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) 800mg every 8 hrs helps with the bleeding and taking iron supplements. Hopefully your doctor can help you more. Sorry to hear, I know it is an awful feeling..
