Hi Everyone,

I'm new here, but needed some input on what I think might be pregnancy symptoms.

I went off the birth control pill at the end of a full pack and my period started on Monday, June 23rd. My husband and I did a lot of trying between then and Thursday, July 10th. I had one instance of bleeding on Sunday, July 13th that was thick and brownish coloured. Also, since then my boobs have been really sore and uncomfortable.

Like others, I couldn't wait and took a home pregnancy test on Wednesday, July 16th with a negative result. I think I was just testing way too early.

Any thoughts? What do you think? Could I be pregnant?

Hi Sara,

I'm not sure since I haven't been off birth control pills for 5 or 6 years. I was a teenager when I first went on them and wasn't really concerned then with how long my cycle was....

it could be preg simts or pms they are very much the same. i would give it a week or at lest a few more days and test if no af. good luck

well i was in the same boat when i started ttc, looking at your dates the bleed you had could have been ovulation so hopefully you may have coulght it this month, hope you did hun, wishing you alll the best for a speedy

Hey there Jessa,Im Chanelle,
Im sort of in the same situation as you, Came of the pill on June 2nd, had lots of trying between 18th-22nd June but then had a day of light bleeding on 29th June (Which Iv been told could of been an implant bleed,Maybe yours was too) and then more trying between 4th-9th July, Have done tests too and came back Negative, But I know its way too soon to tell, Im just getting a bit impatient lol!
I think you should wait about 5 or so days, as its way to early to tell yet.
But yes you could well be pregnant, the symptons your getting could be signs of AF coming too thou, so best to wait a while an re-test. I have simmilar symptons, My boobs r killing me, Back is acheing alot and have major headaches oh and Iv been throwing up too(which i dont normally before AF arrives sooo fingers crossed for a possitive soon! )

Thanks for the input! My husband and I have been married for almost a year and just decided to start trying around the end of June. I'm so happy that he's ready because I've been ready for awhile now! :-)

I really hope that they are pregnancy symptoms and not PMS. I've been on the pill so long that I've forgotten what a period without it feels like.

Yeah like others have said you could be but the signs of pregnancy and those of the luteaul phase (between ov and af) are very similar. I have been fooled before!!

sounds quite similar to what happened to me but exactly 14 days after the 'bleed' arrived giving me a 39 day cycle. dissapointed you bet but then it was easier for me to plan this first official month of TTC

I dont think you should test till around the 28th July so if you have a 16 day luteaul phase you will have more chance of showing as a +ve if has not arrived
Its hard waiting im doing it right now testing on the same day as well but i cant test sooner as i really dont want to see -ve on it

Me too and after 10+years on BCP it was strainge not knowing exactly when it was going to arrive all very odd
