Has anyone used their CBFM for over 6 months?

Hi, been using CBFM for 8 months now - this is our 12 cycle of TTC.

Just wondered if anyone else out there has been using it for over 6 months too?

Basically the first 6 months of using it were fine - it was detecting 2-3 days of high and 2 days of peak using just 10 sticks but last month I needed to use a whole 20 sticks and it only detected one high reading before peak and now this month I have had 5 high readings in a row and no peak as yet and have just used stick number 9 – looks like I’m gonna use a whole 20 sticks again!

Not sure what’s going on - can my body change so differently all of a sudden or do you think that the CBFM has just given up on me as I’ve been using it for too long

I've been using my CBFM for about 8 months now too. Apart from the month I was on clomid, I've only ever been asked for 10 sticks. I usually get 2 highs before my first peak, but this month I had 4 highs. I guess each month is a little different, but if you are really worried, call the helpline or go see your GP. I always keep my used sticks until I get my first peak and then reuse them as the rest of that cycle is preprogrammed. That way you'll save some sticks and some money too.

Hope that helps and you get your very soon.

xx

I've been using mine for about 5 months now, usually 2 or 3 highs before my peak but this time it was only 1. I think your body just does strange things from time to time to be honest. I also reuse sticks after the first peak to save money!! Good luck hon

I've been using mine for over 6 months too and my PEAK day varies a little. I am mostly asked for 10 sticks, but have on 2 of the months randomly been asked for 20 and twice have no had a PEAK at all. Those two months turned out to be delayed ovulation so the monitor missed the PEAK days altogether as it fell outside the 'test stick' days. I chart on FF and my temperature showed my LATER ovulation day.

I too reuse sticks after my first PEAK day.

Just a thought but perhaps you could use cheapie OPK's at the same time and instead of using your monitor for all 20 days, you could start say on CD6 with a cheapie OPK, work through each day until you get two pink lines showing on the cheapies and then start using your monitor. You would have to remember to use two OPK's a day late morning and afternoon to ensure you didn't miss your oncoming surge, but 20 sticks a cycle is just too expensive.

Have a look at my previous charts to see the slight changes in my monitor readings. I only used it one day this cycle as I needed a break so ignore this one (it's also a delayed ovulation cycle for me).

YAY - I got a peak reading this morning - I was getting concerned I wouldn't get one as I have never had 5 high readings in a row before - oh well - meant extra bding which is good!

Yeah great idea about using previous sticks - I'm gonna try that.

Thanks ladies x
