I'm Currently Feeling: | Tanning? Is anyone tanning while TTC? I talked to my doctor about it and he said as long as I am doing it in moderation it should be ok.... Has anyone tanned and gotten pregnant? I have read some things on it and it says it doesn't affect fertility. It takes away some folic acid, but not too much for it really to matter since we are taking prenantals.
Any advice or imput?
Trying to look as good as I can to help enhance BDing!!!!!!!!!!! |

DHA (DiHydroxy Acetone - the active ingredient in fake tans) shouldn't be ued in the in first trimester. It can react badly on hormonal skin, and cause irritation, patchiness and the effects on the unbron child aren't wel enough tested for the tanning companies to be able to suggest use in pregnancy is OK.
Some people use the gradual tanners OK, as they only have a small amount in them, but in all honesty I would avoid as its not worth the risk.
I have a beauty studio, and airbrush tanning is one of my biggest selling treatments, but I havenm't found an insurance company yet that wil cover a client in the first trimester....that speaks volumes to me! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yes! You are ok after the first tri! So you need to get REALLY brown now so it'll last you the three months! lol!
After that if you do go for 'fake' tanning, I would go for a airbrush/spray tan as opposed to cream application. Spray tan solutions are 99% natural and many don't have the nasty's such as Parabens etc in them, whereas the creams have a lot not so great ingredients, but avoid inhalation as much as possible. I recommend my pg ladies all wear a mask whilst I tan the body and then just gently mist their face as they hold their breath.
As and when I get my BFP, I plan to wear a mask when carrying out the treatment on someone else. |
