Want to try Agnus Castus

Hi girls, Ive read a bit about agnus castus and think I would like to try it. Ive heard it can lengthen your luteal phase and balances out progesterone and eastrogen, is this correct?

Im not too sure about my luteal phase as before april I didnt really take much notice, and got pg which ended in early m/c. The cycle after (may) I had pos opk on cd 22/23 and came on 10/11 days later. So Im assuming my luteal phase is between 10/11 days which is concerning me alittle especially as my recent pg ended in m/c too.

Ive also bee looking up progesterone levels and read this could be a factor in m/c???
Ive also heard of progesterone cream/pessaries to help with this, does this have to be prescribed by a doc or can you take it as a precaution?

What exactly does agnus castus do?

Can I start taking it right away, as I we plan to ttc again this cycle and not wait for af (doc says this is ok)

To be honest, I think I ovulate quite late in my cycle is there anything you can take to make you o earlier or is this down to docs to sort?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to give my (fx) next pg a fighting chance.

Hi Jacqui

Good luck darling x

Hi hon, your situation sounds exactly the same as me. I O on around CD17/18 and have a 29-day cycle. Still no BFP and I strongly suspect the reason is my short luteal stage.

I used to have a 28-day cycle though but taking VitaminB6 (50mg a day) added a day to my luteal phase, which is great really. It took a month or 2 but so chuffed as it gives an extra day for any little beans to implant. I still wanna increase it even more though so might up to 100mg if no BFP this cycle. It also helped with my spotting - eg. I don't spot as much now, only a few hours then get full on AF. Apparently, spotting can be a sign of something not quite right.

So in a word, if you haven't tried it yet, I'd recommend trying Vitb6 for now cos it's cheaper than Agnus Castus and easier to get hold of. x

Hi Hun

You can take Agnus Castus for the 1st half of your cycle (from period - ovulation) and it helps to balance out your hormone levels which in turn could help you to ovulate earlier.

I think you should maybe try this + vit B6 as mentioned above.

Neither of these things will do you any harm & they might just be enough to make a difference for you.

Good luck hun xx
