Should I use the monitor this month or not?

Hey girls...

I know its early days but I am already planning on trying again as soon as possible. Its funny, but it seems to be the only thing (aswell as my kids & dh) thats keeping me going at the moment.

Im going to assume alot of things as I dont know whats going to happen yet, but assuming I go to hospital tomorrow and the scan says everythings gone and hormones have dropped considerably and I get the all clear to try again asap, then when I stop bleeding, can I use the monitor this cycle? Will it work?

Or is it best to leave it this cycle and start next?

Ty xxx

i would use it as your ovulation mite be messed up. The only thing that may not be good to use is a preg test until you make sure that all the hcg is out of ur system.

im hoping you get good at the hospital tho

Where you given a scan when u went up?

I would leave it for a month hun. As Omi said they do advise not to us them for 3 months after a m/c.

I can totally relate to your feelings of wanting to try again straight away, I felt exactly the same when we lost our baby. You will get there hun

Thanks girls, I will leave the monitor for this month then but will deffo be trying again, just randomly though. Do you think I will be ok to try again so soon? I dont want to wait.

PP - No they wouldnt scan me! I had to push for them to let gynae see me, I was treated atrociously (sp) I was left in a side room whilst I m/c. Ive tested this morning and the line is sooo faint, so the hcg is lowering. I think I have passed mostly everything as the bleeding is light today.

Snowball- I could never understand how you felt my darling, I would imagine it to be 100 x worse than I feel at this moment, your one brave lady, I am totally in awe of you

Nicky- Thanks babes, I'm not sure if I recall you m/c either, I think the last I heard you had your bfp, am I right or was that another Nicky? (sorry heads all over the place)

OMG thats wild. What was their reason for not scanning u?
I had real rude doc after i found out i had a blighted ovum and they woudnt give me answer when i asked thing eg size of sac etc. I said that i had been reading things on the net and he said " i didnt get my degree of the net". I was fuming as he was treating me like a child and we have every right to get answers as its our body. Then once he heard i was at uni he was sooo nice as if that makes me any better of a person I also had a woman scan me when everything wasnt removed as i was still bleeding and she just really didnt wana be there that day as she just rushed me in and out

Please please please dont let them walk over you and just demand answers.

You poor thing. Theres loads of really differing advice out there and no two doctors give the same answers which is really annoying! The plain fact of the matter from a biology point of view is after you have had your next normal period (ie not the bleeding from the mc) you should be biologically able to concieve again. Some women dont ovulate during the next or next few cycles though and their cycles can differ from usual though. And in addition women generally need a bit of time to get over the loss, so psychologically you may need longer.

Go with what you feel comfortable with.. and what you are ready for....

Good luck

When i had mc the hospital said theres no reason why you cant try straight away.... as long as you feel up to it.

We waited just a couple of months... i didnt feel i was strong enough to cope with it if the same happened again. Now im ready.

The monitor might not work, but you try whenever you feel youre ready hun.

Jacqui have been thinking the same as u about my CBFM monitor. The nurse at the hospital said I should get my AF again in 4 to 6 weeks and then it would be ok to try again. I was thinking why wait but I suppose my body might need time to reajust and hormone levels reset. I was gonna use my monitor this month just to see if I do ovulate and not really try just bd if we feel like it. Not sure maybe now after really replies in this post maybe should save my £20 in sticks and start using it again when next proper AF comes. Its hard to wait even a month.
