What happens to the cervix?

Hi I'm new to this really so sorry if this is a silly question! What is supposed to happen to the cervix if you are preg? I am 5dpo and going mad looking for signs. I heard it changes colour (!?) but can't ask db to go and get the torch and have a good look in there, he already thinks I'm obsessed!

No it doesn't change color.

It rises high but stays soft like lips and will be closed. I also opened a thread about this, I'll put the link here if I can find it.

My OB/Gyn said don't try to figure it out yourself. And I read that you might end up aggravating your cervix. Checking once or twice would be ok but if you check every day it will irritate your cervix.

Good luck!

Hiya

I read that CP is not the best indicator for early BFP. It said that it will move during your cycle, up for O, then down again. It will raise again when BFP, but this can vary from woman to woman. Some women don't see it raise again till they're way into the first 5/6 weeks, others it shoots straight back up again!

Chocoholic's right though, don't go mad checking it all the time, you don't want to upset it! You can irritate it, or worse cause an infection.

Best of luck hon,

Yes, you can't tell from your CP and not at 5DPO - that's too early.

I know everyone is deifferent, but I had been checking my cp for 1 cycle before I got by bfp. On the cycle I conceived my cervix stayed high after o and went even higher and sort of mushy a few days before af was due. The last cycle it went low straight after o, so for me it was my indicator that I was pg.
