How long had u been off the pill till ur doctor did something about it?

I have just showed DH ur post. Up until now he has thought I was being paranoid and told me to be patient like doc suggested. However after reading what has been done to help you he is very not impressed with my doc! We've agreed I will go back to a lady doc at my surgery and demand we are helped.

Im feeling better than I have in months and feel that DH finally realises what all my tears have been about. He now realises my situation isn't normal and its such a relief to feel he understands!

I have been on BCPs for the past 8 years. I stopped in December 07 and got my first period in January 09 - didn't have to wait at all. Had perfect cycles including March, with ovulation and all. But didn't TTC b/c it's advised that you wait 3 cycles after BCPs.

Then in April, things started to get insane and I found out in June that I have low hormone levels, irregular periods and am not ovulating. So, for me, BCPs were a blessing, they supplemented my hormones and allowed me to ovulate (which all of my scans were showing so my OB at the time was perplexed. She changed the way I take the pill.).

Now, I have to take Clomid to ovulate. But, again, the BCPs did not cause this, they were actually helping me.

I read that BCP's do not cause fertility problems they mask them. This is because it forces your body into a 28day cycle and bleed. Once you stop taking BCP your body adjusts and any problems then rear their head as, you don't know you have fertility issues until you start TTC.

I was on BCP for 18yrs. Last pill I was taking was Ovranette and that was for about 10yrs. I took my last pill in Feb'08 had my last pill induced AF, had a 42 day cycle and had 1st proper AF on 05/04 (I OV over Easter weekend), got a on 04/05, sadly I had a m/c starting 27/05 in the evening,he if I take the 28/05 as 1st day I had a 34day cycle where my AF started on 01/07. I am hoping I am going straight back to a 28day cycle as, my OV symptoms have been getting progressivly worse since Wed. Hoe due a hopefully be due a visit from on 29/07 or, she wont show and I get a . Fingers crossed your body sorts it self out soon for you.
