Clearblue Fertility Monitor

Does anyone else use one of these or know much about them?

http://www.clearblue.info/uk/fertility_monitor.php

I used one in my first pregnancy, to reasonable effect, I think!

I found out when i was ovulating in the month and used it to track my cycle, and plan timing etc, albeit the month I actually fell pregnant I had thrown the sticks away in a little fit and said I was fed up of my body being used as a scientific pin cushion by the doc's. (Just shows what they say about relaxing etc I suppose!)

Would just love to hear others opinions.....if I get nowhere this month, I was going to go off and buy some more test sticks.

Look forward to your thoughts x

Hi Lyns

I used my CBFM for the first last month and although I only got highs (its says that can happen in the 1st month until it starts to understand ur cycle) I felt it gave me reassurance that at least I was experiencing some kind of fertile period. I know if it had given me peaks I would have felt relieved that I was ovulating and I knew when. It was expensive to buy and the sticks aren't cheap but it was, and may still be (awaiting for either AF or BFP) a little peace of mind that I was doing something to keep track of my fertility and help the ttc process.

I would use it if you can afford the sticks and keep with it till you get that BFP. At the very least after six months you can tell ur doctor you have been using it and that may be a help to getting checked out and tests etc. However to be more pos+ hopefully this is ur month and ur'll not need it at all.

Yeah, mine was a bit all over the place the first months I used it......glad its not just me!

I guess thats partly behind my questioning....as I wasn't sure if it was me or the monitor! Maybe it just takes a month or two to 'get to know you' I also used 20 sticks the first month, but only ever 10 since. At c. £1 a stick its not cheap but ! do like the reassurance I felt. And it saves me peeing on HPT's all month....cos I know when to test from! (thats the theory anyway! lol!)

NickyT75, I guess its just a more sophisticaed OPK reader really.....but I liked the fact that it 'learnt' your cycle, and you had structure to your pee'ing! It was expensive, but IMO it was worth a lot more to me if it helped me to a IYKWIM

Thanks so far ladies.....be interesting to see if anyone lese has used it....especially successfully!

Hi - I'm using a CBFM but this is now my 8th cycle of using it! So it hasn't worked for me yet. I'm getting highs and peaks every month but getting fed up that it hasn't helped me to concieve
