I'm Currently Feeling: | For any1 whose had a mc, am i wrong? My doc said to me last time that u dont get early scans (as i wanted one as i was anxious, turned out i was right). Now im hoping that i do get one when i get my but when i was getting scanned after mc i was told that i wont unless im bleeding. Ive also heard others say that u need to have a few mcs b4 u get an early scan.
Now i hope i dont get shouted at for this but if i dont im goin gto go to the hospital at say 7 weeks and lie and say ive hadnt a slight bleed. I know that sounds awful but i think they should think of the stress im under and the fact that it coukd do me damage as i will stress over another blighted ovum. Now im sure that people will not like me for saying that as i mite look like a time waster.
Last time i wanted to book an early private scan but its £120/£130 as only one place in belfast does it and my doc said not to as it would be a wate of money as they only do it at 9 weeks and i would have my scan not long after that
Am i being inconsiderate? |

Am i being inconsiderate? | Hey Porkpie
I havent myself had an mc but one of my close friends did a couple of years ago and ever since then she hasnt been the same and has had no luck with concieving again,But fingers crossed she will soon (:
Anyway..
In my opinion you are not being inconsiderate atall! I would say the exact same thing about bleeding, Of course you've got all the rite to be extra worried and this scan would help put your mind at rest, I think the doctors should atomaticly offer an early scan for anybody who has mc just the once,Thats enough for gods sake!(excuse my french.) I wouldnt go over to Belfast though,I know your probably really eager to get the scan,But just think that money could be spent on the little one. Dont give up on the idea of saying your bleeding though,It will kick the doctor into action and maybe take this more seriously!
Take care hun,Let us know what happens

I'm Currently Feeling: | I read or got told that you MAY be offered earlier scans because of m/c previously. Just kick off at your doctor, jesus we been through enough when you have m/c, what diff is it to them? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would push your doc to arrange one. I know my doc has told me as soon as I get pg, I need to go in so she can arrange an early scan as I have endometriosis and they want to make sure there are no problems straight away. I didn't even ask about it. So I'm guessing it's down to the doctor you have. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Umm...Here in Nova Scotia, Canada I had an early scan with this last pregnancy (ended in m/c in June) after also having a miscarriage in December. They also told me they were going to monitor me closely (as there is spina bifida in my husbands family). They seemed very concerned with me as I had 2 m/c in 6 months and even did testing and stuff on the fetus and placenta this time. Im sure with my next one that they will have me in all the time for ultrasounds. It varies I think from place to place when they do ultrasound or how many you need to have before they monitor you closely but I think lying about a bleed wouldn't be your best route to go but honestly I would do what you feel is right and if thats what you feel is right then do it. No one should judge you for it. Just personally I would feel too guilty. You aren't being inconsiderate, you are just worried as any of us are after having a m/c but if all of us whom have had a m/c and are worried "fibbed" and said we had a bleed the hospitals would be jam packed with people. You can't help worrying, no one can. I am scared to death of getting pregnant again because of all of the "what if's?" but I am going to have to try and stay strong and just deal with the hand that is dealt to me. I hope you get your BFP soon..good luck with whatever you choose to do! xo |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I asked my doc about this and he said i should just call the EPAU and ask... but then again i is old so it could be that But he didnt seem to think it would be a problem at all. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was thinking of doing the same thing when I get a porkpie - I couldn't stand the thought of not knowing for 12 weeks - but then again if I did have another m/c I'd be convinced that I'd jinxed myself!!!!! Oh I don't know - maybe I'll just go to the Dr and cry - that usually seems to work when I can't get my own way - well it works with OH anyway!!! |
