I'm Currently Feeling: | Advice to kit me out in preperation in TTC Hi girls!!
Me and OH have been not been preventing TTC for over 5 years now, however the real deal of TTC has begun last cycle so im here for all advice anyone has to give.
Now ive been reading about ovulation testers and charting etc....i dont want to come over as a bit but can anyone give me a dummys guide in what really i should be getting to help me out the most? im usually pretty regualar 29 days cycle so im guessing the o kits would suit so i know exactly when im O.
Could anyone point me in the right direction of what im actually looking for??
I would be grateful for some advice |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Kat,
Well I am new to all this too and have decided to give charting a miss for the first few months anyway as I just wanted to get used to everything else, and use OPK's - it is a whole new world this ttc!!!
The OPK's come with instructions to tell you which day to start testing on depending on your cycle length.
I bought a book which covered all aspects of charting and OPK's called Fastest Way to Get Pregnant Naturally by Christopher D. Williams. I have found it really useful and it's one of the cheaper ones too. I suppose it helped me understand my body and the whole ttc process a lot better.
Also got my hubbie on wellman vit's and I'm on preconcep vit's.
I suppose everyone has different methods, so you will get a variety of answers here so it has to be what suits you and your OH best I suppose...
Good luck x. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hiya! Get about 20 for your first month if you can afford it because you need to start testing from CD8/9 until you get a positive and that could happen early or late and some ladies test twce a day (some more!!) to make sure you don't mis the surge. The more you try the easyit becomes to know your cycle and the less sticks you should need.
Good luck! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Depends I suppose, some of the ladies on here will be able to answer better than I can. Some can feel when they ovulate so I suppose they may need less. I have no idea, so I tend to start as the instructions state and go on from there. I went through 3 this month and think I got a positive on day 12 which sounds about right. I have ordered more today with preseed from fertility plan on ebay, you can choose the mix from 25 total so I have gone for 15 OPK's and 10 PT's. Some girls test a lot, others less, it can become an addiction. Also even though you may not get a +ve in the am, you may by 6/7pm so some test twice in a day, I think it may also depend how sensitive the OPK's are??? Can someone confirm this please???
The best time to test is ~2-3pm. Anytime between 10am and 8 p.m. is fine, FMU is not recommended. The reason for this is that most women experience a surge in the morning, but it can take 4 hours for it to show up in your urine. |

| Hey you, welcome to the madness of TTCing! I use Access Diagnostics to get my OV sticks (google it). Very good prices and very reliable. If you can't manage BDing every other day throughout your cycle then I'd deffo recommend pinpointing when u O with OV sticks cos then u can be sure you're BDing at the right time.
Remember to hold your wee in for 2-4 hours (will say on instructions) and I hear the best time to POAS is afternoon and no later than 8pm.
Good luck! |
