First month using CBFM - Any Experts?

So, this is my first month using the CB monitor. I have slightly irregular cycles since a D&C in Jan. Cycles have been 28, 29, 30, 31 and 42 days. Last 3 cycles Ov had been days 19, 21 and 28 (poss Ov).

Im on day 11 now and still having a low reading on my monitor which is fine BUT, I've just checked my cervix and its quite high and quite soft and I had stretchy cm which stretched about 5" before breaking.

Could the monitor be wrong? I've stopped temping now too as it was too much hassle waking a 6am on the weekends and I dont find it reliable in this hot weather.

How were you on your first month of using it?

Mine seems to have been quite accurate I think but I haven't had a BFP yet so who knows! It does say that it might not work if your cycles are over 40 days I think so maybe that's the problem. If you have any better luck with opks, maybe do some of these as well and see if the results tie up? Sorry I couldn't be any more help!

Is it only the one time you had it 42 days? Cause if its only once then you should be ok, as the last post mentioned.

I will say though, that the first cycle it only registers everything as its using that data to get to know you. And btw, i stopped temping as well for the same reason.

I have had really good results with it so i can only go by my info. I will say this though, after my mc, as the cbfm had not been in use obviously, it had to learn things again..but is now reading me very well. ( i used to have longer cycles but after taking agnus castus, b vit complex and primrose they have shortend and the cbfm is now asking for sticks earlier than before)

I dont know about it being wrong at this stage..but when in doubt is our motto here at b&b, lol!!!..if you have ewcm..go for it mrs, as cp can be a bit unreliable at times..dont get me wrong, but it does have a mind of its own, whereas ewcm is controllled by estrogen which your egg releasing follicle produce at time of (and after sometimes) ov.

I also credit it for getting me pg as my predicted ov date was sun and i got a peak on thursday so was busy that week- only twice, but it worked!!!

I would tell you to have a look at this but the site is down at the mo' http://www.clearblue.info/uk/FAQSFAM.cfm

Good luck and i hope ive been of some use if any...

Omi xxx

I have just used mine for the 1st month too and I only got highs no peaks (although I only used 17 of my 20 sticks as I went on hols but doubt I was gonna to get a peak with the last 3 anyway). My highs started around day 15 and using opk last month I got pos+ readings about day 17 so I thought I tied in pretty well. It does say in the book it uses the first month to guage ur cycle so I am not overly alarmed that I didn't get any peaks. I defo think from what other CBFM users have told me the first month is a trial but from the feeddback I have had I do feel its worth using so stick with it.

Ill be on my fourth month of using my cbfm this cycle. First cycle the monitor registered 6 high days before a peak, second month my cycle was 47 days long so it only registered low readings and last month it was accurate again and said very similiar to my temps.

Have a look at peeonastick.com as it helps you read the sticks if nothing else- helped me!

Funnily enough, I posted yesterday asking a similar question! I've linked to it so you can pick up anything useful out of there!

Clearblue Fertility Monitor

I used one TTC No1, and I felt it really helped me to get to know my cycle, made sure I was ovulating and bd'ing at the right time.

Downside, it can get a bit tedious having to use FMU especially if you travel (I did to the US at the time - a lot - and the time difference was a killer). The first month is nototiriously a bit wooolly....but after that you get clear indication of O or not!

I have to say I attribute getting pg the first time partly to it, as I discovered I had LPD and could then take corrective action, but the actual month I fell pregnant, I had a little temper tantrum and refused to use it - the hospital had also muked up a load of my fertility tests and wanted to repeat them and I started to feel like a pin cushion, and decided i wasn't playing any more! Guess thats a typical story though!

Good luck! Hope it works well and quickly for you!
