I'm Currently Feeling: | Really new to this! Hi
I am hoping someone can give me some advice. I came off the pill at the end of May after 7 years, i felt as tho i was having pregnancy symptoms, feeling tired and nausea mostly, plus some terrible stabbing pains in my stomach. Even if i wasnt pregnant i didn't expect AF to come on time, but yesterday one day after AF was due i started a very light bleed, more like u get at the end, also i have had no period pains. Is there any chance u could be pregnant, or am i just hoping?
Other than that i have no idea about ovulation kits and basal body temperature, what should i be doing. My husband and i are really keen to get pregnant.
Thanks in advance for any help. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi, thanks for your reply. It is slightly more pink than a normal AF but still fairly red, had a fair amount of brown aswell (sorry TMI), but it is extremly light. Good luck, when will you test? Do you have any advice on what i should be doing regarding ovulations tests or checking my temperature, i have no idea what to do.

Thanks in advance for any help. | Hi there Daisyduke (i used to love the dukes of hazard!) and welcome to BnB!
I would say that since you only came of the pill quite recently, there are two likely scenarios... one is that your af has not settled down yet, and the other is that you are pg. It's quite normal for af to be a bit haywire after you've been on the pill for a while. I was on it for 11 years and she settled quite quickly but I know for some it takes months. On the other hand, according to Zita West (writes books about fertility), women tend to be much more fertile immediately after coming of bcp.
So! Gotta sit tight and cross your fingers! Since you probably don't really know when af is due as your cycles could be anywhere after the pill, I would test as soon as you feel ready. Personally I would not be able to wait even until the end of this sentence!
If the does arrive, and you are keen to do things right, you are in the right place. Girlies on here range from the completely fanatical to the see what happens brigade, and frankly I think both ways are successful! I think the most important thing to find out is when your "fertile window" is, ie the week when you should get in as much as you can without overdoing it. Since you've just come off the pill, you probably don't know much about your cycles, so it's not a bad plan to every other day. You can use OPks, check your mucus, cervical position, take your temps, and 1000 other things, but if you're not having you won't get pg. Simple as that!
If you do want to take the plunge and do something a bit more technical, I would recommend checking your mucus for the first month, and then building it up from there (if you haven't got your already!). You can find some helpful info at Fertility friend here : http://www.fertilityfriend.com/HelpC...ity_signs.html
Just give us a shout if you have any questions! |
