So, do you ladies have a plan of who to tell at various stages?

Over the weekend I told my mum and two close friends that hubby and I have started trying. We want to keep this bit fairly quiet as we don't want to cause a fuss before there's anything to fuss about.

Once I get my we'll tell our mums and probably the same two friends mentioned above, so there's a few people in the know, whether things go well or not in the early weeks. Not to mention you lot, of course!

Only after the 12 week scan will we make a big announcement.

I found out from one of the above mentioned friends that an old school friend is pregnant. She announced at 6 weeks which strikes me as a bit early!!

What about everyone here? Got an announcement plan yet?

well my 1st pregnancy i told every1 the at 5 weeks and now have a 2 yr old. My 2nd i told every1 at 4 weeks and needed a d & C at 12 weeks. I think as soon as i get a I will let the family know and then tell oters after my 1st scan is ok. I think if sumthing was to go wrong again the family all tell each other whereas friends ots really hard to tell as. In uni a lot asked me a few weeks later how the baby was as they hadnt heard that i had a mc. I will have to tell family as i got sickness both times and you can tel i look ill. Also ive a big mouth and need to tell a few people

Umm .. a couple of close friends know we are trying, as do 'the parents' .. but they are under the impression we are just not using b/c rather than actively trying.
We will tell the same couple of close friends when we get a but I think parents will have to wait till 12 weeks (although might tell OH's sooner as I get on SO well with his mum ... I think the pressure for it to all be fine would be to much if I told my mum)

Hmm, that sounds familiar! I only told my mum when she spotted me buying folic acid (the box said "Pregnancy" in large letters, so I got a "Why are you buying that?!"). So I just said that I'd come off the pill and we would see what happens.

She was actually fine about it. I thought she would say we should wait until we've moved until we started trying. She just said something about it not being ideal to be pregnant while moving!

We've only dropped hints to our parents we are trying, well, I've dropped hints to my folks, but OH discusses temping with his mum!!

We are not going to tell any friends as I don't want the pressure of them asking if there's any news.

If we get a we are going to tell parents only until after the 1st scan if I can hide it from friends for that long!!

We've told my friend and her husband as they are TTC this month. But no-one else. We'll tell the same friends when we get . Then shout from the rafters after scan!!!

I've only told my mum and best friend about us ttc.

On the note of getting a i'll prob tell some people and not tell anyone else until everything is fine.
Well with my first ds1 everyone knew, but not so much with ds2.

at the moment i have 4 close friends that know we're trying, and mil and DH's Nan. i feel bad no one on my side know but i am not sure how they will cope when we get a BFP so want to save it for then really.

when we finally do get a i am telling DH first (of course lol), then my bestfriend and a close friend at work, then after the first scan we're telling the close family, parents, nans, sisters, brother etc and then moving on to general friends and aquaintances.

i have some left over keyring cases which i used for my wedding which i am making of Nan, grandad, godmother etc and giving them to my parents, his nan and mum and my bestfriend (godmother) and i am sitting here thinking that i will give DH his daddy one on the day i tell him.

Just one of my friends knows that we are trying. We really want to keep it quiet, cause I can't be bothered that ppl ask us the whole time if we were successful so far or not.

When I'm 12 weeks I would tell mine and his family and all our friends.
