I'm Currently Feeling: | Temping question You know how you're supposed to take your temp as soon as you wake up? Well, does your temp tend to go up or down with movement?
I'm meant to take my temp at 7am but woke today at 6am and it was 36.83. At 8am it was 37.02. I used the temp corrector on FF which adjusted it to 36.98. I've been up a few hours now and took my temp again (because I'm a freak!) and it's still at 36.98 so I'm a bit confused!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hey Lu
It normally goes up with movement/eating/drinking/bathing etc.
I lay in bed after my bath last night temping and it went from 37.01 down to 36.68 in 15 mins!
Stick to the reading at the time you would normally take your temp and go with that hun xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | But the temps I took were exactly 1hr before and 1hr after when I usually take it!! Only had 2 hours uninterrupted sleep before each. I've put in the FF adjusted temp for now as that's what FF says it would have been at my usual time but not sure if I'm just kidding myself by doing that because it gives me another rise which I want! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | This what it said on FF that even if you take it 10-15 mins after your usual time it can change also.
this what it says:
When I wake up at a different time, should I adjust my temperature?
We are often asked whether temperatures should be "adjusted" when not taken exactly at the same time. Some simple formulas are sometimes applied to adjust for differences in waking time. We are often asked whether this is accurate or not and if it is worth correcting the chart.
We recommend against adjusting temperatures as in general the resulting temperature, though it may be more pleasing, is not more accurate. The reasoning behind our recommendation is based on the fact that the Basal Body Temperature variation with time is dependent on your own unique metabolism. While most women see a difference, some women do not see much dependence of the BBT with time and can live with a variation in time without masking their pattern. For many others even a 10-20 minute difference will have strong effects on their charts. Similarly, some women see an increase of their BBT with time while others may actually see a decrease. From the diversity of the charts that we have seen, it is quite clear that no simple generic formulas will be able to compensate for time differences.
Our advice is to use an alarm clock if necessary to try to keep the time as constant as possible. If you have an occasional waking time difference, just record the time but leave the data as measured and make a note if there are unusual circumstances. In most cases our software should be able to see your ovulation pattern despite a few inaccurate data points.
If you have inaccurate data points that are causing you to have an invalid or confusing interpretation, please ask for support to help evaluate your chart.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks Kerryanne. Why does FF bother having a temp adjuster function if they don't want you to ever use it??! I might leave it as it is and see what my temp is tomorrow. If it's lower I'll include my first waking temp and if it's still as high I'll leave in the adjusted one. So annoying that I'm setting my alarm clock to wake at the right time but my sleep is just really broken at the moment. |

I am trying to stick to the one I take first thing but my temps seem to be very up and down so I really wouldn't know but am looking forward to seeing what everyone has to say. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well my temp today was consistent with the temps over the last few days and not the higher one FF suggested yesterday so I've changed my chart to how that. I just really wanted to see a rise of some form because all the pg charts I've seen have risen consistently during the 2ww and mine is staying put at the same level. Really hope it starts to rise soon or else I'll start getting myself into a BFN frame of mind so I'm not too disappointed... |
