Best time during Ovulation.

Hope this doesn't sound like a silly question, but when is the best time to have sex during the ovulation period? I tend to go on my CM which usually lasts 7 days. During this time are you most fertile at the beginning, middle or at the end?

Any advice would be greatful.

You should BD before OV so that your OHs swimmers have a chance to get to where they're supposed to be when egg is released. They say BD before during and the day after to be sure!

heres what i got of ff hope this helps hun

Intercourse Timing and Cervical Fluid:

Your cervical fluid is probably your best sign to indicate when to start having baby making intercourse since it offers a sign that ovulation is approaching. Your chances of conception are best when you have intercourse just before ovulation. You should begin to have intercourse every other day or every 36 hours from the time you first observe fertile cervical fluid or even before if you do not get fertile cervical fluid for at least a few days before ovulation. If you know or suspect you know the day you will ovulate based on past BBT charts, Fertility Friend's analysis or from an ovulation predictor kit, change your intercourse pattern to every day from the day before ovulation until ovulation is confirmed by a few sustained elevated temperatures. Ideally, you want to have healthy sperm waiting in fertile cervical fluid when your egg is released. The best thing to do is to look at the Fertility Analyzer in Fertility Friend which will take into account all of your fertility signs from both your current and past cycles if applicable.

sorry its a mile long..

xxxxxxxx

Thanks for your replies.

I'm am currently TTC after a M/C. When I fell pregnant I was looking back at the time of conception and we'd only BD twice that week but hadn't really been taking much notice of my CM.

There are so many questions that go through my head, this forum is a great way of getting the answers!

I believe the last day of fertile CM is usually when you're most fertile - ie. your peak day. But obviously you don't know it's the last day until afterwards when it's stopped!

Basically I try to BD as much as I can when I have EWCM, and then keep going for a couple of days after my temps say I've O'd - just in case.

xx

So, here's my experience.

When I got preggers with my son, we only BD'd on OV day. (I got my OV pains in the morning and we BD'd that night.) Knowing what I know now, I think my little boy's swimmer got to that egg in the nick of time!

This month, I'm using the CBFM and we only BD'd on the first day of my peak. We didn't get a chance to on the second peak day. My OV pains came on the morning following my second peak day (we didn't BD that night either). Since I didn't fall preggers and since hubby's 44 and probably has slower living swimmers I'm thinking they only lived a day at the most. Next month, I'm definitely going to try to make sure we BD on the second peak day and the following day, if we're up to it.

Sigh...it sucks to be old (38 ) and lazy!

I'm kinda new to all the signs etc but i would agree with the majority and say its best to Bd during the days before OV on the day and just after.

We BD the day of my OV and the day after (I just hope we have caught it!!) I had cramps which i think are OV pains so I suppose its gonna be 12th July until we know for sure if we have been sucessful

best of luck to you
