OK, probably a daft question, but I have to ask... how on earth do you check you CP and how do you tell if it is high or low?!!!!

Hi there!
You have to put one or two fingers up into your vagina, and see what you can feel. It takes a bit of practice to work out what's going on in there, but this info from fertility friends is useful to get you started:

I found it was more useful to only check a few times a month, and always at the same time of day. This is because it changes position during the day, so it can get confusing, but at the same time of day it won't move that much. If you check every day, the differences are too small to notice, but if you check once a week you should feel quite a big difference. Once you get used to it, you can check it as often as you want as you will understand what's going on a bit more. Don't worry though if it all feels a bit weird - I've been doing it for 3 months and it still feels weird!

To be honest I've had no luck here! I have really short fingers and can't feel a damn thing up there!!! Thought about getting DH to have a go, but he thinks my OPK testing is stupid, so I don't think he'd be up for doing this once I explain why!!

LOL! Glad I'm not the only one wondering how to go about it!

Haven't tried since reading the advice on FF, as am at work but from memory, I'm not sure I would know my cervix if I found it! It's all lumps and bumps in there. How to tell one bump from the next...?

Best to start at a time when it's likely to be low, so not around Ov time. You shouldn't have any other lumps where this one is supposed to be! Just put your finger in as far as it will go - ignore any lumps and bumps near the entrance. You will normally only be able to just about reach it with the tip of your finger. If it's really low, it might be easier, but it all depends on how long your plumbing is and how long your fingers are! It feels a bit like the end of a willy, and has a dimple in the centre too.

Wow! Those pics are pretty clear for spotting fertile times. Anyone on here doing this method of looking using a speculum?? Where do I get a speculum from in the UK.
(DH is a nurse, but I don't think they have them handy sitting around in mental health wards!)
I'm going to give this a go if I can get one. Much better than fishing about with my tiny fingers!!
