Cycles after BCP

Hi Everyone.

Just curious about peoples experiences since coming off BCP. Did your symptoms vary month to month? How do you feel now you are off BCP?

I am 5 months off BCP and CD27 of cycle 3. When on BCP my cycles were 33days and my AF symptoms every month were exactly the same.....
My boobs got larger and very painful, my stomach bloated, I got cramps 1 day prior to AF and for first day of AF, I craved sweet food, got major skin breakouts, lacked energy and was a general bitch.

Now I am off BCP, first cycle was 60 days, second 39 days and now I have been spotting since cd23 with no clear sign of ovulation:
I have lost weight
my boobs are smaller
No more bloating of belly
No cravings for sweet stuff
still get skin break outs but not as bad
The bitch has packed her suitcase and left the building....seriously I have been grumpy once in the last few months. I'm in a constant good mood!

I know everyone is different and our bodies take their own sweet time to adjust post BCP but was curious to find out what other people experience when coming off the pill.

I went the opposite!
I went from cd28 on BCP to coming off and going to cd24, then cd31, cd40 and now I am on cd31 and no af yet!!!!

Its so confused and so frustrating, as when its a BFN, you just wanna move on to the next cycle!

Good luck, hope things improve soon

Its so confusing! I just wish there was a manual or something that we could all refer to! I have to say though that I have managed to only test once out of my 3 cycles as the scientist in me insisted on waiting until I had at least a dozen possible PG signs!!

I'm 3 months off of BCP. 1st month I had a 42 day cycle, last month was 35, which is normal for me. This month it looks like my cycle is again 35 days. The last two months I started spotting a week before AF was due, which never happened during or before BCP. When I was on BCP I would get wicked cramps on first day of AF but I haven't had any the last two months, thank goodness! I'm in the 1ww right now and I'm desperately hoping I don't see any spotting today or any other day!

I actually find it really amazing how even though we are all essentially made up of the same components and our bodies go about the same physiological processes, our bodies react completely different in essentially very similar situations!

i personally think bcp is evil since coming off of it, im convinced it has given me irregular cycles and a short luteal phase. I came off it in Aug 07 and my cycles have been irregular since- shortest 24days and longest 47 days, the longest being last month which was cycle 9, can't see a light at the end of the tunnel yet despite taking B6 and now this month Agnus Castus to try regulate me and make my luteal phase4 more normal, so far this sems to have helped as ive ovulated 3 days earlier than normal but ill have to see when AF arrives to see if my luteal phase is different

I'm really regreting the BCP now with hindsight but at the time it was prescribed to ease of my extremely painful periods. (they were so bad I used to vomit including the painkillers I was prescribed ) Never occurred to me that it could affect my TTC!!!

Urgh, coming off BCP for me has been awful. I came off late March, and haven't had a period yet. Skin has broken out and I've been extremely grumpy, and still it's not here.. Been to the Gyno. who also said the Ultrasound doesn't show any evidence of starting a period any time soom. joy. It's a little strange, as I've taken breaks before from BCP and have always went back to a regular cycle straight away. My body hates me.

This is my first month off BCP and have been pleasantly surprised that AF didn't come early.

When I had come off BCP before would usually have erractic AF'ing/spotting throughout the month.

If arrives today like I think she will then it will have had a 28 day cycle and am quite proud of my body for acheiving it without being pumped full of hormones.
