I'm Currently Feeling: | TTC and alcohol I was just wondering. In Denmark a new guideline for women who TTC has just been published. Now it is not at good idea for TTCs to drink any sort of alcholic drinks.
I'm just wondering. I do not drink very often - maybe once every two months - but when I go out like this Friday to an open air concert then I'm drinking beer - and lots of them
I have decided that I will not put my life on hold in the TTC period. The day I get a I will stop. But I was just thinking. Nobody knows how many months we are going to wait for a .
I could contine this with caffeine, passive smoking etc.
Am I totally wrong? What do you girls do? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well i switched to decaf coffee but only drink 2 cups a day anyway. I also stopped drinking and 7 months later i still wasn't pregnant.
So now i will have the odd glass of wine, maybe a couple of glasses a week and when i get my BFP i will cut it all out.
Plenty of people who accidentally fall pregnant drink until they realise and unless you are an alcoholic i don't think it has a detrimental effect. So long as your diet is healthy/exercise/no-smoking i reckon you are good to go!
Have a glass of wine!! (when i get a BFN i tend to have a bottle!) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | TBH i drank wine last nite as im only around ovulation. Its a hard one tho.
With my 1st he was unplanned and i was a smoker and a few days b4 my i had drank 2 bottles of wine and fell down a few stairs I wouldnt have done this if i thought i was preggers. Hes fine and is now 2 but obviosly i wouldnt adise doing that.
P.S I gave up smoking the next day
I think a few doesnt do any harm if ur not around testing time. Then again mybe since u have said there is new guidelines we should stick to that.
I really dont know to be honest |

I'm Currently Feeling: | It's a hard one eh. I've thought the same, I went through a stage of no drinking because we were TTC. But two years on and still no viable pregnancy TBH I've given up a bit, or think I'd go mad (not an alcoholic honest). I don't smoke, I have a healthy diet anyway, I exercise and every now and then I have a drink or two.
I'm a complete lightweight these days anyway so 3 glasses of wine will have me very merry. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | As I am in my 2ww I will not have any booze if arrives in 2wks I will drink if not and I am by some miracle I will not drink until after is born and only then if I am not breastfeeding. Not that I drink loads every wk but, the odd glass of wine or cider is nice. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I cut out alcohol when started TTC, and caffeine after a couple more months, but I am finding it REALLY HARD!!! DH hasn't given up either, and my 5 months pregnant friend was still boozing right up to getting her BFP, and still on the coffee even now!! Frustrating. (and she got PG one week after stopping the pill!!! Not fair!!)

I'm Currently Feeling: | To be honest, this is just me but I think that the stress of ttc can be bad enough without cutting out all our life's comforts and enjoyments as well. I drink maybe a couple of glasses of wine a week but I drink ALOT of tea! I do cut down on the tea during the 2ww but I don't cut it out. If I get my BFP I'll cut all of it out straight away but it could be a long wait and I want to enjoy my life in the meantime! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hello.
I switched my coffee and tea to decaf...and cut down a whole load to about 3/4 cups a day if that.
I tried to give up Diet Coke...but tbh I am struggling with this one so I might have to buy the decaf stuff too when I get my fizzy drink urges.
I dont really drink anymore, only really on nights out at Christmas or someones birthday party etc....unfortunatley on Friday I am attending a wedding I will be 9DPO...soooo I am going to be our driver but enjoy a few sips of champagne with the toasts and all that...but stick to lemonade the rest of the evening.
Oh and I have never smoked.

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm with Schmoo, I dont drink during the 2ww but as soon as arrives I love to share a bottle of rose with oh and if Im going to go out, I tend to do it between af and o. I used to drink loads of coffee but have tried to cut down over the last few days as I read on here it can be bad for you. I have to have a mug in the mornings though, it wakes me up!
I still smoke too, Im concious its not a good thing but have cut down a little and as soon as I get my I will stop smoking and drinking altogether. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks for all your answers. They are really useful.
My big bad habit is coke. It is not possible to buy decaf coke in Denmark. But I have really cut down on my consumption.
And I'm so very proud. I have not had any coffee at all this weekend. I use to drink coffee during the weekends when I'm at home with my coffee-holic hubby. |
