My husband and I were blessed with an amazing little girl who we spoil rotten and she will be 15 months on Friday. And we decided to start trying for #2 this month. And recently i've been told that it is "Selifish" to want another one so quickly.

We are full time working parents, and young ones. But we've beaten the odds and are more set in life than most people. Financally we are secure, and i am due for my second raise here soon. We bought our own house in Febuary. Our daughter attends daycare regularly. But i've been told by several people on Dh's side that they think it is selfish to want another one, after we "barely" give our daughter any attention. Which isn't true. We bust our asses so our daughter and future babies can have the best. I miss her like crazy during the day, but shes in the best daycare in town, and is a very happy little one. We think 2 years apart between our childern is a great age. I just couldn't believe i was told that. I want another one so our daughter can have a little brother or sister, because siblings are awesome. Has anyone else been told this? I don't feel we are being selfish at all.

What a ridiculous thing to say, of COURSE it isn't selfish, it's totally natural and normal. Just ignore them! x

don't listen to other people, there is 14 months between my two boys and its so lovely now they have started to play with each other
And am ttc my third

Me and my 3 brothers (I have a other brother but there's a bigger age gap) all have a close age between each other, and we grow up well loved, and got everything we wanted, never once did i feel like i had to share my mum. Now my brothers are like best friends because they are round the same age, going out together, helping each other out etc. And am still very close to them.

It up to you what you want. no one else

Hiya MrsKeene.

I don't think it is at all selfish to want to try for another. I wish that me and my husband hadn't waited so long to try for another as our son will be 5 before we have another and i'm just hoping that wont be too much of an age gap.
Goodluck with trying for baby number 2 and don't worry what other people think, you just do what is best for you, your husband and your little girl

ignore people. I also have had things said about me. I go to uni and it sumtimes feels like im only home and hes away to bed. I want a good job so i can give him a good start

My SIL told my MIL that, and i quote, she 'wanted to get it all over with in one go' , lol!! We all thought it was genious and knew exactly what she meant. She had a boy dec 2005 and a girl sept 2007.
