I'm Currently Feeling: | New to site Hi i'm Julie. I'm 37 years old and from Essex. I hope that i might be pregnant.
I am i bit worried about the reaction i am going to get from people because of my age.
Unfotunatly i've had a few relationships that have gone wrong and when i did find "the one" My life was turned upside down when my mum became seriously ill and i had to look after her. sadly mum died in December 2006.
I was devastated and its taken me ages to come to terms with losing her. My fiance stuck by me and we decided we would wait for a year before we started trying for a baby because i was very depressed and dont think i could have looked after a new baby at that stage in my life.
Anyway i came off the pill at christmas we used condoms for 2 months because i wanted to get my periods regular and we started trying in march. My periods have been regular (every 28 days) We have had 3 failed attemps so far, but this month, it feels different. My period was due yesterday. On saturday, sunday and monday i had mild cramping. My breasts are hurting. I normally only get cramping on the day i come on. Problem is i did a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative.
I am so confused.
I have read somewhere that some people dont get a positive result until 6 or 8 weeks into there pregnancy. Does anybody know if this is true?
I would love to hear from anybody who may have been in a similar situation whether they become pregnant or not.
Thanks

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi julie!!!!!
I also had some bad relationships in the past and took me almost 4 years to meet my Mr. Right. Which is why I am finially trying to conceive at the age of 36.
Sorry to hear about your Mom and your past dealings with depression...
Now onto a happier note............AF is late..and you feel preggers...hmmmm
Some people get an early at 8 dpo some at 10dpo..some have to wait til they are 2 weeks late. Some get all the symptoms....some get none!.
It can be a very nerve wrecking journey but the end result is oh so rewarding.
You may have to keep on testing....or call up your Dr.. and get some blood work done.
good luck to you.......and here's hoping you get your |

Julie. | Hi Julie. I just wanted to say that there is nothing at all wrong with your age, my mum was 36 when she had me and my Dad was 41. Their age was never a factor for me. I think that it doesnt matter what your age, as long as you can give a child everything they need
Goodluck

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Julie just wanted to say that I'm in a similar position to you - my DH and I have been ttc since December without any luck so far but af was due on tuesday (still no sign) but like you i did a test tuesday morning which was negative. My breasts have been sore and tender since around the time i would have ovulated but now they are starting to feel fuller as well and i don't feel as if af is about to come - usually i feel bloated and get bad backache but have none of that at the moment. But then again i'm not sure if i'm just reading more into it because i so badly want to be pregnant!
Anyway the only advice i can offer is to wait a few days and try another test - thats what i'm going to do.
Good luck and i'll keep my fingers crossed for you xXx | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | I second everyone else's posts.
Btw im 38 and ttc no 1. Im the same...finally found the one, a little later than i expected- kissed a few truly ugly frogs on the way, lol!
Im not bothered about my age. I recently went to a concert in the park and to be honest most of the mums over there were not in their twenties. All the women at my work who are pg or have been recently are in there 30's and many of the women i work with are in their forties with young children.
We can and will do it, chicken!! , Omi xxx |
