I keep reading threads were women are saying that if they knew how bad depo was they never would have done it. There is another on today. I was on depo for 11 years! I got pregnant while on it and as soon as I gave birth I went back on it. Is this part of why I am having such a hard time conceiving now?

I never knew there was anything wrong with it. I never gained the weight I hear about and my period came back to normal about a month after I stopped taking it. I then started on the pill, stopped that a year and a half ago and everything has been ok except of course that I am not pregnant after a year of trying.

i had it after having dd, i went on to miscarry my 1st baby after being on depo. never again!

So sorry to hear that.

Was the depo a contributing factor do you think?

This is all very scary to me now, never heard anything about it causing issues.

dunno, as i fell preg on microgynon... then had ky then had depo ,, stopped it, w8d ages to conceive then mc..

I got pregnant coming off depro provera and had a mc, no idea if it was to do with the depro. Then it took forever for my cycles to sort themselves out.

I was on depo for 3 years , I stopped taking it because I had gained 30lbs while on it , I went on the pill after that for 6 months and got pregnant with my now 5 year old daughter it took me 4 months to get pregnant for her after I stopped taking the pill. the depo is nasty .

I had constant nausea, aches, pains, depression, weight gain and now been TTC 2.5yrs after just two shots of it, while no problems beforehand with other pregnancies (unplanned)

It's well documented that Depo can affect fertility return. It's also well documented that it can cause depression and very worringly osteoporosis. A woman is only supposed to take Depo for I think it's either 2 or 4 yrs in her lifetime. They use Depo to chemically castrate sex offenders, so just think what it can do to your sex drive.

There have been court cases in the US over this drug. It has a very bad past, and there are stories all over the net about it. In my opinion it should be banned.

i was on depo for a year and it messed my body up i had to go on the pill to sort my cycles out

Thanks ladies, I will have to look this all up and read some.

Never knew, did have a bone scan to make sure no osteo but no one ever said it could be an issue later in my fertility

I also had a miscarriage for my first pregnancy, after being on Depo.

I wonder how many ppl who have been on it and went on to become pregnant has had a miscarriage.
