I'm Currently Feeling: | First AF after m/c ...help needed. I had a m/c 5 weeks ago and AF arrived yesterday. It is fairly heavy and I have been passing clots i'm really concerened. I have an appintment with my doctor this afternoon, I spoke to NHS direct and they told me to go and see someone. We were having unprotected sex about 2 weeks ago so I'm worried I could have been pregnant.
Has anyone else had this with their first AF? My periods were quite light before I was pregnant but I was on the pill. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Mine's not arrived yet, but my doctor told me to expect a horribly heavy one when it does. She said it may also have clots, and not to worry. Don't dwell on the possibility of it being another MC. I know that sounds hard, as I will probably do the same when I'm in your position. Do let me know what the doctor says this afternoon though. Try to focus on the fact that you can TTC properly again now. I'm hoping for a for you in a few weeks time!!! and more

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks. I feel fine in myself although I didn't go into work today as i'm bleeding a lot for me and it would have been very uncomfortable. I didn't really think I could be pregnant again until the nurse mentioned it which really freaked me out. I think just seeing the clots has worried me as it is really odd I have never had this before except when I m/c. xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Ask your doc this afternoon. There must be a reason for it, as I was told to expect it. Well let's hope that this is your last AF for 9 months!!!!!

I'm Currently Feeling: | Can't remember exactly what happened when I mc but I know that I was bleeding on and off for about 6 - 8 weeks during which I had a very heavy af.
Think I went to my docs a couple of times cause I thought it would never end but as the doc said everybodies bodies react differently and it did end up sorting itself out then end.
Also the fact it is your first af since being off the pill is why it is heavier too.
Hope get on well at the docs and he puts your mind at ease. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well I went to see my doctor, told him what NHS direct had said and he rolled his eyes!! He said there was no need for me to come in heavy periods with clots are common after m/c and I should go home!!
Oh well at least I can stop panicking. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | So relieved that he was able to put your mind at rest. My OH is a nurse and he said that NHS direct are very over cautious, and to take a lot of what they say with a pinch of salt.
So sorry that the got you, and I hope she doesn't stay too long. Hope the nasty bleeding doesn't drag on too much. It's the last thing you need at the moment. Just try to focus on your next OV. Are your cycles regular? Will you be able to work out when it will be?
Also: how long was it in the end from your MC to this AF today? and more

Niki xxxx | Hi Niki, My cycles were very regular but I was on the pill for 9 years, when I came off in March I had one period that was exactly 28 days after I stopped taking the pill and then I was pregnant. Its been 36 days since I m/c so not sure what my cycles will be like now. I've no idea when I OV we just went for it last time! xxx |
