| Sad news that's making me wonder Hi again,
I've just received some very sad news from my sister-in-law to say that she has miscarried at just over 12 weeks. I'm heart broken for her and she and her husband are inconsolable. It's so hard to stand by and watch your loved ones suffer so much and not be able to make the pain go away.
Some of you may remember me have a bit of a rant at all the activity she was getting herself involved in including drinking wine and Guinness, playing active sports that she wasn't used to (that bit is important), taking two 23 hour flights in a fortnight and a tandem paraglide, which was the bit that worried me most. I know there were mixed sentiments on these things and appreciate that, but sometimes I think people can push themselves too far.
Noone can attribute her loss to the extra activity she undertook I realise that, but it really is something to consider when you are pregnant, that you should not in my opinion take on activities that you are not used to. Lots of people get away with it, but she will never know and that's something she is finding difficult to cope with right now.
It has made me realise even more now that if and when I do get pregnant, I am going to check out my activity levels with my doctor. I had been planning to continue running and cycling, but will check it all out first and that's for sure. I don't want to be in the same position as my sister-in-law and always wonder if it was my fault. It's so sad.
Here is my original thread: 'Sniff' 'Rant' 'Sniff' |

| I have to admit I couldn't hold my tears back when she rang me. I'm feeling a bit soft today as it's my Mum's 4th anniversary. I was kind of hoping to get a BFP today and hold some kind of significance to it, but it didn't happen.
Hearing this news has sort of put things in perspective for me. In a strange way I'm a bit frightened of getting a BFP and feel a bit mixed up. It's sort of like I'm finding ways to console myself by thinking, well I would rather have a BFN than suffer a MC ... really this TTC makes you think all sorts of things that you shouldn't even be considering.
I so admire the ladies who have experienced this and coped so wonderfully well with it. They are heroines in their own right. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | So sorry to hear your news Tish
If I'm ever lucky enough to get a bfp again I'm not leaving my house. I never thought in a million years that a little fall would have killed our baby |

Yes, it was actually your experience that made me worry about my sister-in-law and you are most definitely one of my all time favourite heroines. I admire you so much, you have no idea and you no doubt have been and still are an inspiration to many women who visit these boards.
I hope you are doing OK and that your next BFP is very close. |
