I'm Currently Feeling: | 8 days I can't wait and at the same time I'm so scare to test. Never in last 6 months I've been so scare about testing. I think part of that fear comes because I plan to go to the doctor if I'm not pregnant. We've been trying for 6 months already and I think is time to go if I don't get my DH said it's best thing to do, but I'm really scare.
What would the doctor do once I go? I never went to the doctor because of this, when we decided that it was time for us to TTC, I never thought I would end up going to the doctor because we're having problems TTC, that scares me a lot. I see every day how much many of you suffer because you've been trying for so long and yet you can't get a and I see your pain and I feel so sorry for all you, because I know how much it hurts when AF comes or you get a
Why can this be easy? We should all be able of getting pregnant on the first month we try, that would be the best for all of us. I wish it was like this. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | How old are you hun? Generally you have to be trying for at least 12 months before the doctors will investigate, but after around 8 months I went to the dr and got a progesterone test and DH got a sperm test. Both very early, non invasive tests. We then had to wait till the 12 month mark to get a referal to a specialist.
Best of luck to you! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Just wanted to send you some
I've been TTC 6 months too. I always thought avoiding pregnancy was the hard bit!
I went to see my dr last month and am having blood tests for progesterone. I'm lucky, I've known my dr years and get on well with her so going to see her was fairly easy. But I think some drs won't start doing anything until you've been trying for a year.
Good luck and try not to be scared. Perhaps this will be your month for a BFP. |

Best of luck to you! | I'm 25, and I know I should wait at least one year before going to the doctor, but my mom had problems to conceive my sisters and me, and one of my sister had problems too, but only with her first baby, so that's what scares me the most, that because it is already a family problem, I may have it too, and if I do have it I would like to know it now, so I can start dealing with it now and not in 6 months | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | hi faith...don't worry to much love...i just did the 8month mark myself and i went to see a great doctor in the month of MAY who told me as well (it's very common to not fall pregnant right away and it can take 12 month ) but because of my age 33 i could if i wanted do a ultrasound abdomen and vaginal and also do a saliva test during my cycle to test my hormones during my cycle anyway i had the test schedule to start on friday the 6 th for the ultrasound and i was suppose to do the saliva test when i started my AF but it happen i left for vacation the day af started on MAY 25th so i called my doctor and tell her i did not want to do the saliva test during my vacation ( i need to froze each sample until the last cycle day and then send it to be analyse) so she told me again to relax and not do it as i should not be worry to much because i am still not on the 12 month mark ..anyway the ultrasound was schedule the day after i got back from hawaii but i canceled that as well in the middle of my vacation as i was talking to my HD about it and we thouth we are really putting to much pressure on us....
so we decided to relax and wait before starting all the test
it always give me great hope and reassure me as well when i see the girls here who were so worry like us they were not available to get pregnant but then here i see them announcing there BFP
anyway go to the doctor it's always reassuring but i think they will also let you know that you should relax and wait a little longer before doing any big big test...
thinking of you |

thinking of you | Thanks Miel, and good luck to you too. Like I said before, I know I should wait until we get to 1 year TTC, but it scares me that I may have problems like my mom and one of my sister did. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | If you're really worried and think you might have a genetic infertility problem, maybe go to the Dr and have a chat and just start by doing the very early testing like a 21 day progesterone test and a sperm test on your DH, those are the 2 most common tests and should tell you if something is wrong.
If they both come back fine and nothing has happened in another 6 months then see a specialist.
Do you know what your Mum and Sister were diagnosed with? Or did they not get tests and it just eventually happened? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i think seeing the GP will put your miond at ease as they should do some tests at least. I went to GP after 6mths and now we've been referred ro a fertility specialist as my luteal phase is way too short. DH has had sperm test etc, it does pay to go early on. I went with my charts and cbfm readings so gp had little choice but to see my short luteal phase |

I don't really know what my mom had, I think I should ask her, but I do know that my sister had problems with the ovulation, she didn't ovulate at all. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Faith- I would definitely recommend charting your temperatures & cervical fluid- this will confirm whether or not and when you are ovulating, which will help you time intercourse. If it turns out that you are having some anovulatory cycles you will be able to show your charts to a doctor who may refer you to a specialist earlier than if you were presumed to be ovulating. I would recommend buying a Basal Thermometer (BBT), as well as getting an account with Fertility Friend (basic account is free) and taking their online course. The book Taking Charge of Your Fertility is also very good, although it operates under slightly different principles than FF.
Good luck! |
