I personally think that theory is a load of crap.
There is NO scientific evidence to suggest that stress causes infertility, there is plenty however to prove that infertility causes stress
I don't support 'articles', (unless it is an extremely reliable source with hard core evidence) i'm sure I could find an article that told me there was purple elephants with pink polka dots crusing around in China
Yes, you hear of people that stress about getting pregnant, then they take a break and fall pregnant, but I personally believe its a coincidence, given that it takes the average couple 6-12 months, so if a break is taken after 6 months, you could fall PG on the 7th cycle regardless of de-stressing or not.
Second of all, as much as you try and 'relax' or 'not stress' during TTC there will ALWAYS be an element of stress. You're trying to create a baby, emotions are running high.
And lastly, if you have infertility problems, no amount of holidays, or de-stressing is going to change that, it just won't. You don't hear anyone telling a cancer patient to go to FiJi for a week and voila, their cancer will dissapear.
I don't know how many times i've been told to 'relax' and 'it'll just happen' in the past 20 months, which REALLY pisses me off because us relaxing isn't going to magically increase my DH's sperm count or motility AND it ALWAYS comes from the mouths of those who have never had a problem falling pregant, what does that tell you?!?
Sorry, just a subject close to my heart.
So no, I don't believe that stress stops you from falling pregnant.
