What do you think? Advice please!

I went into early labour as most of you know over 2 weeks ago on the 18th may, a little boy but he was only 18-19 weeks gone so he didn't survive.

When I left the hospital I had the rubella immunisation because I wasn't immune. The midwife said I should wait 3 months 'til I start trying again but I have read up and it says that you only have to wait 28 days but they say 3 months because they tested most women who got pregnant 3 months after getting the immunisation. None of the babies were born with any defects or anything. Even the women given the immunisation in early pregnancy.

My bleeding is very light now so me and OH have been we have been using condoms and the first few times were okay but now they have started hurting him (tmi, sorry!) I really want to be close to him again, we rarely had sex the whole 5 months I was pregnant because of spotting at 7 weeks and now we still can't because he gets hurt. That's why I read up about the immunisation. Should I risk not using protection??

I was so careful when pregnant with my son and I still lost him so I'm just starting to think if I'm going to miscarry then there's nothing I can do anyway.

I didn't read that there was any evidence to say that there has been problems with babies and rubella immunisation just that it's more of a precaution.

Any advice is welcome, sorry for long thread.

tough one.

First off am so sorry for your loss, I hope you and your OH are doing ok xx

I think that maybe your own doctor might be the best person to advise ( if you trust their judgement that is!) to see if it really is necessary to wait the 3 months, or if he just feels they err on the side of caution. I am sure the last thing you want is problems.

Good luck to you for whenever you do decide to try.

So sorry to hear about your little boy hon, that must've been tough. I would listen to my dr / nurse personally. And a break for 3 months might do you good? Maybe take a holiday or something?

But it's your decision to make hon. x

So sorry for your loss

I think I'd personally err on the side of caution with something like this, just in case but it's totally up to you
