Ok so, having had a huge heart to heart with my friend(the only one i confide in about TTC) and also my husband, i've booked to see the doctor at 5.30 tonight (after DH finishes work).

I discussed this also in a previous thread, and as i said then i'm not hoping for miracles, just a bit of guidance and help.
There are several reasons why i think we're not getting anywhere, but then i may be over reacting! Who knows but i know i'll feel a whole lot better by going.

Any advice on the best questions to ask etc?

Is there anything that you would like to know from them, like what they do investigationswise?

There might be questions that pop up in your head whilst they go through things with you, dont be afraid to ask anything you are unsure of.

Hey chick, i went to see my doc for the first time about ttc a couple of weeks ago too after much deliberating. Are you going with OH? I took mine with me and think doc took us more seriously as we were together and looked like we 'meant' business if you kno what I mean and they cant fob you off then either can they??
Just wanted to help to put your mind at rest, my doc was really nice about everything, just explained wed been ttc for a year now and ive been using opks etc so presume im ovulating etc and to be honest he did the rest. He asked us about family history, our lifestyles (drink/smoke etc) and staright away booked me in for day 21 bloods to check if i ovulate and a few other things, he booked me with nurse to have some vaginal swabs and referred OH for a sperm test and within 2 weeks we were all done and dusted and had all our results back. All clear and normal so far. Im still waiting for an ultrasound for me just to check everythings ok down there and think hes already referred us to fertilty clinic. It was that easy. I didint have to ask anything. Thats what they did for me. Just be strong and make sure you get done what you want and dont be fobbed off. xxxxx

Thanks girls. I fell a bit better about it now!!!!

I've always had fairly irregular periods esp since i came off bcp, and DH had a hernia when he was 23 which (sorry if tmi) burst and dropped into his scrotum, which i'm worried may have perhaps "damaged" things, at 23 he didn't care and didn't think to ask!!!!

I really just want a little guidance, and anything that they think may help, at the moment neither of us really know whats going on and could really do with some reassurance and pro advice.

Well doc was really nice (nicest i've seen there....and he tells me he leaves next week....typical!) he has referred me for day 2/4 bloods and day 21 bloods, so if i don't get a bfp this month i'll be happy to see as i can then start with those!
He's also told dh to have a semen analysis done by his gp....we're registered at diff surgeries.
So at least we are getting somewhere!!!!
