| Calling temping experts - which therometer to buy? Hiya, the nasty got me so wanna start temping this month. Need to buy a therometer and saw a Digital Fertility Thermometer, Two Decimal place high accuracy units (display 37.00*C or 97.00*F) for £8.99 (incl 2 free PG tests). Is this a good deal? Or can I get it online cheaper? And do I get celsius or ferenheit? Wanna start temping using Fertility Friend and getting people to help me (like the fab Tish) by checking my chart out.
It won't arrive till this weekend, probably, hope that's not too late to start temping.
Any advice appreciated.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hey Trix
i got mine off of ebay - it was a bargain, 30 OPKs, 5 early HPTs a thermometer and all for only a tenner including delivery!!!
Mine is from baby mad and it seems fine, i leave it next to me and then in the morning just reach my arm out and take my temp.
I just would Zita Wests book which is really interesting, might be worth a purchase on amazon?? not too expensive but she advocates monitoring your CM with OPKs and says not to get bogged down too much doing the temp stuff and also the cervical positions??
How goes the stuff with your bro and his wedding and stuff? x |

Still undecided about the bro wedding stuff. I think it'll be a 'last minute' decision. x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm only about a fifth of the way through Zita's book - does it have a happy ending???? I hope so!
Scary when you read the things not to do and realise you are doing all of them!!!
Get your thermometer off of Ebay - search for babymad and they sell a ton of stuff on there and it's all on the hush hush!
Re the whole going abroad with new baby - my friend is Due end of August and is planning a trip to the USA when the baby is 7 weeks..... go for it! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Trix - I got a digital thermometer from tesco for about £4 it only does it in Celcius to one decimal point e.g 36.2. I've had no probs with it and i like the fact that i can fall asleep and it beeps when it is ready.
However, if you pay a bit more you could get one with a memory so when you fall asleep you don't even have to look at it until you get up.
I tried not temping but it drove me mad as it gives you clues as to what's going on BUT it is addictive and you have to take it around the same time every day even when you want a lie in.
Good luck chick xx |

| Hi honey,
I bought mine from babymad.com too with some OPK's and HPT's ages ago. It's pink and white and measures temps in celcius with a memory function. It beeps too when it's read which, I find good as I have a snooze whilst I'm waiting too.
I did have to change the battery early on, but it was no problem.
I didn't even consider whether I would temp in Celsius or Farenheit as you can easily convert whichever you choose if you fancy looking at your chart in either on FF. Mine is in Celsius.
Anything under £10.00 is a reasonable price and I recommend having one that shows your temperature to 2 decimal places eg. 36.23
Let us know how you get on and I look forward to seeing your charts. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I started using a one decimal place thermometer, then switched to two decimal places and the difference on my chart was amazing. If u click on my chart in my siggy, CD1-CD6 is the .1 thermometer, but CD7 onwards is the .01 thermometer. I think they work much better.
I got mine from babymad too, They're fab! |
