I'm Currently Feeling: | When you go for the HSG make sure you have someone with you for afterwards - the omitted to warn me that it can really really hurt. Not trying to scare you, I know some people it's no problem for, just be prepared. Mine hurt so much because the right tube was blocked (and later found to be infected) and it was a very unpleasant experience. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I don't mind at all... my last period was on December 11th, 2007 and it was "forced" with birth control b/c I was starting on 100 mg of Clomid.
I have never had a natural period. When I was 19, I finally worked up the courage to go to a Dr to see why I had never had one. He was able to bring it down with 3 months of progesterone and a cycle of Premarin. Since then, I have always been on birth control to keep my cycle regular. If I stopped taking the pill, I stopped having periods......I did not have one for over a year following Hurricane Katrina ( I live in New Orleans) b/c I had stopped the pill with the hopes of magically becoming pregnant without fertility drugs.
I took the cycle of Clomid in December of 2007, then did not have another period. My regular gyno put me on 2 rounds of progesterone and NOTHING, so she referred me to a fertility specialist, who put me on Provera. My last Provera was on May 11th, and no period yet!
By the way I am 28 years old now....... |

If for some reason he can't take off of work, my mom and a good friend of mine are on backup duty
I have heard mixed things about the HSG.. some people say it is very similar to cramps, others have told me that it is pretty painful..... considering the fact I am kind of a wimp, I am definitely making someone be there for moral support! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Seriously, because the Drs didn't give me any warning, and because I had the procedure 2 days after they told me I would have it, I didn't research or anything so the whole thing was a bit of shock. I've heard that normally in the UK and US you're given pain relief before hand, or at least advised to take some. I didn't. Big mistake. I had full blown contractions which was very traumatic as I had flashbacks to a mc earlier that year I also threw up and passed out.. but that might have been the shock after the contractions. Like I said, this was because my tube was severely blocked and they tried to blast it open with the liquid, no wonder it bloody hurt!! I researched afterward (ha ha, fat lot of good) and I saw some people said they felt nothing, some said it was like bad period pains, some had contractions and a small percentage had an experience similar to me. |
