overweight and ttc?

Hi girls. Any of you overweight and ttc?
I lost 2 stone recently, going from a size 20 to a size 14 and am pleased with what i have achieved, but I am still overweight.

My bmi is 26.6, i am 5'9, and im over 12 stone. Not hugely overweight but maybe so much so that it would affect ttc.
Anyone else in the same boat?
I don't think I look bad, i just want the best body i can get for my baby to ruin. hahaha. This is me now.. I want to lose a stone or so, but if i become pg before i do then I will be happy. My current diet is no longer working and i have hit a brick wall when it comes to weightloss. A pre baby jelly belly would surely be a nightmare post baby. I go to the gym, i eat well-healthily, what else can do.

I added this cuz my shoulder looks boney hahaha

I went to school for personal fitness training. As long as you burn more calories than you are consuming, you can drop weight with no prob. One of the best things you can do to conquer hunger is drink water if you feel like snacking. I think you look just fine though! I would rather have a tad extra weight when ttc because when you do get preggers, 1st tri nausea can cause weight loss. Good luck!

Hi Melbo,

First up massive congratulations on that weight loss - you've done fantastically well and if you have done that then you can do the last bit. It often seems to be the case that the last stone or so is the most difficult to lose. I agree with the other girls that you look great, but ultimately its what you think that matters.

There are lots of women out there who have conceived when they are much more overweight than you, so I wouldn't worry too much about that but yes I would say that it makes sense to try to lose that last bit while ttc rather than when pg! I'm only 5'2 but was around the 12 stone mark myself and after messing about with a slimming club for a number of years I recently bought the Paul McKenna I can make you thin book and DVD from Asda and have found it really helpful. perhaps you could give that a try - I also reckon you should try some form of yoga to tone the muscles.

Well done you and all the best for getting rid of that last stone and getting a new bump!!!

wow you have a gorg figure, you must be very proud of your hard work

over 25 is overweight on bmi, but they don't take into account mucsle mass, so many olympians for instance are clinically obese!!

wouldn't take too much notice of it tbh..

I have lost 3 stone so far since last May in an attempt to boost my fertility, obv ain't worked yet though!! No "skin" though but plenty of wobbling, everything gets looser lol!
I joined Curves but work is getting busy so going to have to cancel that, and am starting running when my sw friend gets back off holidays, not that it will tone me though...

My mindees parent does Pilates and she has a lovely toned look
