| cycles after bcp hello ladies!
i know lots of you have come off bcp and had trouble with cycles, just wondered if anyone would be willing to share their experiences with me to make me feel a bit better!
Currently on CD28, haven't ovulated yet (plenty of ewcm tho - sorry if tmi), last month had ewcm on CD31-32 (not sure if i ovulated) and AF on CD49.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Meg, when did you come off BCP?
When i stopped taking it, the first 6 months were pretty bonkers! Long cycles - between 30 and 50 days for first 6 months. The last 3 or 4 months it has settled down and i am regular as clockwork at 33 days now. Maybe you just need to give it a bit more time for the bcp to work it's way out of your system? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi meg
My cycle were as follows. BCP NOV07/DEC07/JAN08 just so that i could get AF on some kind of order.
Then 6th Feb AF but got AF again until CD70, and now had 2 normal 28/29 day cycles only due to being on postoval, it is not a BCP it is a progesterone that helps regulate your cycle like the BCP would help.
But without the postoval i probably won't ever get AF on my own as in my last 2 cycle of Clomid 100mg no Ovulation. Started clomid 100mg last night again so just hoping and praying
Good luck |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm not sure if I was ovulating or not my first few cycles off BCP (never did OPKs) but I was one of the lucky ones, my cycles seemed to settle into a 24 day pattern pretty much immediately. Good luck, I hope your cycles regulate soon and you get a quick BFP |

I'm Currently Feeling: | ah i am having bcp hell at the minute. i came off it in sept 07 and had the following cycles
45 days
56 days
35 days
35 days
35 days
just when i thought i was settling down i am now on cycle day 51 and nothing yet and all tests are BFN so depending on the person i think it can take a while for your body to regulate again.
sorry its not better news but hope u dont feel alone xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi meg,
Just thought I'd share my looooooooooong experience of cycles after coming off bcp. Stopped taking it nearly 10 months ago, and had no AF for the next 5 months. Then I had 3 normalish cycles from Jan-Mar this year and I am currently waiting on the 4th. Im now on CD68!!!
I finally gave in and rang the doctor today (have already been for bloods -apparently everything is normal but 68 days doesn't sound normal to me!)
I would hold on tight for a few more months because it could be a long ride. But I'll cross my fingers and toes for you that you become regular pretty quickly. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear.

| thanks girls, its good to hear others experience so i have some idea of what to expect, im under no false expectations, i had no idea that being on bcp would mean this once i came off it!
i suppose at the moment im more bothered about regulating my cycles as opposed to getting a bfp. Quote:
