Need help from you lovely ladies please!!!

Hi ladies, been on here for a little while but would love some advice from you lovely knowledgable ladies!!!

Right i want to help my sister, she is 24 with a little girl 4 and a half and little boy 2 and a half.

She has been TTC since Christmas 2006 so 17 months and no success! She wont go to the doctor so i have made a deal with her, told her i will help her with as much as i can and if that doesn't work, she has to go to the doctor!!!!

I have ordered her some ovulation tests, but want to know what else i can do for her??

Her cycle is sort of regular, always within a few days either way of her usual cycle length. Quite heavy painful AF and she has bad PMT!!! (I get the brunt of it!!)

Any help would be greatly appreciated info or thoughts i could pass on to her. Even advice about when and how is best to use the ovulation tests.

Thanks ladies!!!

opks is the way to start for now, or she could try the smep plan, give that a look up online, i have heard some promising things about it and i might give it a go this month myself...its just a semi rigorous plan of bding really, based on your cd's...cant be a bad thing =) also, there are other methods of detecting ov, like watching your cm or there is a new monitor thing from duofertility, but i think its about to go on trial so you cant get that quite yet. there are definitely many things to try...so give whatever method she thinks she can handle a shot.
goodluck to you helping her, that is very sweet of you

no not at all, she would be BROKE

if you want to try the opks, then start with about cd10 (nine days after her period starts) and test the same time every day til a line appears. when it appears (it could be faint before and after a surge because the levels or hormone are going up and then back down, so its hard but anytime during that is it really). once detected, the egg travels down for about three days...so during those days are the best to bd (get it on!) to get the sperm to the egg to meet in the fts. never hurts to bd before and after as this is only a method of testing when the surge happens which is what causes the edd to release...so its all methods relying on what happens to make things happen, if that makes sense.

see i think something like smep might be also good because all that silly detecting and worrying about missing is not in play, as ad cd10 you start to bd every other day, you get the in the right mindset (which is half the battle) and then when ov comes (either can tell by guessing, by cm or by opks) you bd every day for the next 3 (i think) and then back to every other. its just a method that relies on the sperm having more change, giving them the best shot to make it to the egg, but while not tiring everyone out tooooo much. sperm can live up to three days in the body, so thats why the every other day seems to work. anyway, that was all off of memory from looking it up before, so take a look at the website if you/she is interested.

goodluck to you both!!

How lovely that you are helping your sister when you've also got yourself to worry about! At least you are in this together! I would love a sister (especially at the moment!)
