The F word?

Forgive me for asking and hope this sin't stirring up a hornets nest!!

I know on FF and some other places that it's frowned upon to use the F word.. because no matter how long you've tried, there's usually someone who has tried for longer...

FINALLY!!

Is it the same here?

Wouldn't wish to offend someone by posting when I FINALLY get my

I would be thrilled if you got a BFP. I am not upset when anyone on B&B gets a BFP because we become so close and I know they are waiting for me in the pregnancy area. (and everyone else that gets a BFP makes it closer to being my turn)

This is a very supportive forum. Yes there are girls on here who've been trying for years, but I'm friends with a lot of them (and I got my BFP quickly) and they've all been the greatest support system to me throughout my pregnancy

i'm sure anywhere there will be some people who feel down, envy, get jealous, what have you when someone else posts a BFP...but we all try to smile and congratulate the lucky mother to be! You really can't tell a person's true feelings . Girls have been posting their good news all the time with no problem, but i am sure some have a heartache but continue to smile and wait for their turn. You just can't help that!

No one will tell you you can't share your news though, and I am sure in the end we will all be thrilled for you or any other lady here for BFP news!

thanks all.. not so much a case of not sharing or announcing, just the use of the word FINALLY

I have to say I was really surprised when I found out that the etiquette on other forums is to not say "FINALLY!" because for some people, it really is a case of it being finally.. I personally think they are taking it a little too far and being rather uptight about it.

It always puzzled me because as ( think I can safely say this) a long term TTCer of 2+ years, I wouldn't ever feel offended by someone saying FINALLY ( well maybe if only after a couple cycles!) but TTC feels like it takes ages however long you have to wait for your right?

I wouldn't be offended by the word "finally" coz no matter how long you have been trying every BFN brings heartache.
Hope you "finally" get your BFP soon xxx

I have never heard that "finally" is taboo! You learn something new every day! I agree with the above posts - the real meaning of "finally" is very personal and is different for everyone, but is a sentiment that everyone can understand.

If it is a problem on BnB tho, someone pls say!

I don't know that it's a problem, I can understand how someone who has been TTC for two years would get upset if someone who was TTC for only a handful of months said that they'd "finally conceived" But I've never seen anyone get treated/talked down too on here because of the use of the word finally when talking about BFPs.
